        Best place in the whole area (western WA) to conduct your business. The staff is friendly. Knowledgeable, and most importantly fair.

        About 14 years ago, when I was much younger and dumber, I brought a rare gold coin to Northgate rare coins and asked how to submit it to PCGS for grading. I told the guy that I did not know how to submit it and appreciated any help he could give. I had been told by others in the know that this coin could possibly grade at such a level that it could be worth many many thousands of dollars. In the very least gradable condition it would have been worth $800. Again being dumber at the time, I trusted what the store manager told me and let him submit it for me to PCGS. We agreed I would insure it for $800 and I told him to add the fee for that on to the bill for grading. He told me it could take up to a month or so to get the coin back. So I waited. And I waited. And I waited more. Over the next few months I called the store and asked that person about my coin and all they would say is that it still hadn't come back. After about month 3 the guy finally says "It must have gotten lost in the mail." I was heartbroken. I asked him about the insurance and he had me go to the store where he did pay me $800 cash right out of his pocket. At least he was kind enough to not make me wait for the postal service to process an insurance claim.

        It took me quite a while but I finally figured out what he did. Obviously he knew it was a very valuable coin and he literally stole the value of that coin from me less the $800 that he paid out of his pocket.

        The profit from that coin was going to help my wife and I buy a house we found. Northgate Rare Coins did not ruin that dream for us. But they did make it much harder to achieve.

        I can't say it enough that those people stole from me and my family. They took advantage of how naive I was. Please consider my story if you decide to go to their store to buy, sell, or even for advice.
