Bachtel Property Management

My experience with Bachtel Management was horrible. When it comes to anything having to do with conflict resolution, they will avoid the situation at all costs. My fiance' and I rented a two bedroom top floor apartment at the Wagon Wheel apartments in Greenlake which Bachtel manages and everything was okay until new neighbors moved in below us. A music producer moved in below us and their apartment has hardwood floors, amplifying the music. They would have band practice every week and we could hear the bass out in our living room. We talked to them about it hoping it would solve the problem of the loud bass, but it seemed that they didn't care. So we brought it to Bachtel, and according to their interpretation of the lease, the music has to be so loud that it has to be heard outside of the apartment building. After going in circles with both Bachtel and the property owner, I was told by Bachtel in so many words that they wouldn't care if we moved. Very unprofessional and rude.

In addition, we made sure that we thoroughly cleaned the apartment and left it in very good condition. We got less than half of our deposit back. They charged us $85 for cleaning the blinds (the blinds were spanking new when we moved in and looked just as good when we moved out), and $145 for carpet cleaning solution when the carpet looked immaculate when we left he premises. We also got charged $60 for the time the property manager claimed she had to clean (for 4 hours). I called the property manager and politely asked her what she spent 4 hours cleaning, and she could not answer me. The only thing she said was that she cleaned the mildew that was around the windows, which was there when we first moved in.

Bachtel management seems okay at first, but if you ever need to have any issues resolved, or are a good tenant who takes care of your apartment and pays your rent on time, don't expect them to respect you or hear you out on anything. They are in it for the money and that's it!
