I start my review slightly upset with Yelp itself. I see a "no stars" option? That's right. That's how i feel. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant on Thursday the 1st of May, and were disgusted with the way things turned out. what started the incident was the bartenders (sitting in the bar) snarky attitude when he was asked by my boyfriend why we had been charged for 2 soda's when only one of us had soda. (In ... view morethe previous visits we've had to this location, which is very frequent, we'd never been charged for soda water as a soda) When we asked the bartender why and tried to explain we'd never been charged before his immediate response was "we charge for everything." Being restaurant managers, the both of us, we understand the necessity of putting the complete order into the computer, but his attitude was highly unnecessary. At this time we had given the bartender the credit card and asked to speak to the manager. He walked to the computer, swiped the credit card to pay for our bill, and as expected went for the manager. Not 2 SECONDS later, he emerged from the kitchen saying as he walked to our table, "my manager says we pay for everything." I toldd him, "okay, thats fine, so where is your manager?" and he repeated himself. My boyfriend, highly disappointed in the way things are going, doesn't plan to tip the snarky guy so he picks up the receipts from the credit card transaction and try to leave. The guy yells at us that he needs those receipts, although the both of us know very well, he only needs that one Azteca copy if he is given any money as a tip on the credit card, and he wasn't getting one either way so said no. He then proceeded to come after us, which i highly doubt is protocol for any situation, especially one this small. He stepped on the back of my flip flop causing me to stumble and i turned around to correct my balance and he tells me to get out of his face like 3 times and shoves past me. He continues after my boyfriend who is exiting the building by this time, and is yelling at him. Not exactly the greatest customer service. We were still asking to talk to a manager, and finally they pointed to an older hispanic woman behind the host stand who was just sitting there watching the whole situation unfold. My boyfriend walked over to her, followed to the step by the bartender. My boyfriend tried to talk to her, but the bartender was yelling still, and shoved my boyfriend, who like any man would as a natural instinct to protect one's self stood up to him and the bartender had the nerve to swing and hit my boyfriend in the face!! Meanwhile, a younger waitress and I were speaking about the situation at hand, when we saw the swing, both ran over to make sure the bartender didn't swing again. We asked the manager if she was just going to let the employee put his hands on a customer? All she told us was "We charge for soda, tonic water, and soda water." We walked out as obviously upset disappointed, and very furious customers and have no plan on returning. However, we have filed a police report, and are waiting to see what may come of that. We have also contacted the corporate offices who are being very slow on getting back to us. They have redirected us both to someone from the northgate Azteca store, and told my boyfriend they have film of the whole thing and that my boyfriend swung at the bartender, too. my boyfriend and I beg to differ. We will be requesting the video's. We will not stop until this ridiculous act of assault and disrespect be investigated fully. I personally will not support this corporation any further. I will be sure to share the word with everyone i can until our voices are heard. Until the Azteca corporation no longer has a bartender who assaults it's customers, on its payroll. From a 24 seat restaurant in Burien, Washington in 1974 to a collection of 35 Azteca Mexican Restaurants, established by 2001, Azteca Mexican Restaurants now employ more than 1,400 people, and serves over 400,000 customers each month.
