You may not be into hearty Cuban sandwiches dripping with juice, but for my money, it's totally worth showing up just to patronize and experience a business establishment devoted solely to doing one thing well without letting it take over your life, and to trusting your customers to do all the advertising you'll ever need. Just be sure to bring cash and be prepared to fend for yourself in terms of parking and seating. This place is devoted to one type of very tasty food and not much else - including cutomer convenience. Oh - and make sure they are open. These folks actually give themselves a good well earned vacation every so often and just disappear for awhile.
This store has everthing a novis cook will need, to make them look & cook like Hispanic chef w/ a long list of experience. I told my friends once, that I would make them this lavish Mexican meal if my team lost on Sunday. Well I lost & a friend told me about the Mexican Grocery, I went and they had everything from A-Z for any & all the dishes you can think of,as well as all the answers and advice for any preparation questions you might have. Now I go there once a wk for ingredients for Sat urday Potluck.GO you'll LOVE the experience!!
Fantastic food! My favorites are the chicken appetizers (Coxinha de Galinha) which are amazing with their in-house hot sauce. The grilled chicken (Frango Grelhado) with mango chutney, black beans and rice and salad, or NY steak (Bife Acebolado). It is hard to stay angry at the their Feijoada which is the amazing national dish of Brasil. I recommend dessert flan too. Love the Caipirinhas (the Brasilian national drink) made with Cachaça.
