I am extremely excited to see this restaurnat open as something new! The menu was small and not confusing. I have been in for lunch three times since opening and I plan on going atleast twice a week, time providing. The food prices are all under $15 it seems. The food is clean and not complex. A nice change of pace. I ordered the Shrimp Penne my first visit and it was mouth watering. My second time I ordered the Salmon Cakes as an appetizer with a Turkey Sandwich. The salmon was cooked perfect. The turkey sandwich looked great and tasted even better. And let me tell you about their french fries. Addictive! My 3rd visit I had to get the Penne again because it was so good the first time. This place is true Cleveland food for thw working stiff like myself, won't break your wallet and is a quiet spot with some class. Pretty cool watching the chef's cook your food in the kicthen in front of you. Has a stage like atmospehere. A must try!
The restaurant inside Severance Hall is now known as Sammy's. Apparently, since it caters to a crowd that arrives an hour or two before each orchestra performance, (all at once) the all-inclusive buffet format is logical. The buffet is $40 and includes an appetizer, salad, several entree items, as well as coffee and GOOD desserts. This past week was my 2nd time dining there and the service staff is good, the atmosphere is nice and I liked that my aunt (a vegetarian) was even satisfied with the food options. The only downsides are that customer traffic is moving past your table to and from the buffet alot and there was only (1) appetizer offering on my last visit, a creamy seafood soup, which I typically don't eat on my new diet. (it looked good though!)
EATING AT THE GREENHOUSE TAVERN IS A FANTASTIC DINING EXPERIENCE. THEIR ATMOSPHERE, FOOD, OWNERS, CHEFS,SERVERS, BARTENDER, INTERIOR DECORATING (ALL GREEN) IS MORE THAN 5 STARS!!!!! ALL THE FOOD IS MADE FRESH DAILY, NEVER FROZEN OR FILLED WITH PRESERVATIVES. EVERY APPETIZER, ENTREE OR DESERT IS LIKE EATING HOME COOKED FOOD WHICH IS STRAIGHT FROM THE GARDEN/FARM. PLEASE STOP IN AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DINING EXPERIENCE. OR JUST STOP IN FOR A COCKTAIL. THEY USE HOMEMADE FRESH MIXES - NO PRESERVATIVES. THE DRINKS ARE DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!! MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF SAWYER AND CHEF SEEHOLZER!!!!!!!!!!! THEIR FAMILIES SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF THEM. FINALLY, DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND HAS A 5 STAR NEWYORK STYLE RESTAURANT !!!!!!!!!!!
