I've been a client for nearly 10 years. I come in about every 2-3 weeks for a pedicure and fill, or new set as needed. There have definitely been positive changes since the new management took over! Tony is the current tech I prefer for new sets or fills; he is sociable without being annoying and speedy without messing up or hurting you. I have never had any problems with a fill/set he has done, but have had some issues with a couple others. In particular, one tech was asleep and literally _snoring_ on the couch when I arrived and they woke her up to do my nails!!!! WTF?! I should have spoken up about it, but I didn't feel comfortable. For pedicures, Charlie is great and Paul is absolutely awesome- they actually give a lengthy, diligent massage and are super nice guys who make you feel very relaxed. If there's any sort of problem going on with your feet, they notice, explain the ins & outs of it and do their best to correct the issue for you. Price is very competitive/fair/reasonable. As of this review, I pay $15/fill, $25/new set, $30/pedi, but those are, of course, subject to change. I strongly suggest you MAKE AN APPOINTMENT; it is frequently busy here. If you call and schedule, they'll take you before the walk-ins, regardless of when they signed in. I think that is the confusion in the cases of some reviewers here complaining about others being taken before them or feeling like there was "cherry-picking" going on. Those taken ahead probably called ahead; you should too! Most importantly, this establishment is clean; the techs follow the laws and licenses are displayed. All in all, quality is a lot better than most other shops like this and way more affordable than a spa/salon.
I'm the kind of person that always checks out reviews before I go somewhere. I had moved to the East side of Indy several months ago, and was a little skeptical about going to a salon there, I still drove to Greenwood to get my nails done. I decided to try CV nails because it is close to my house . The first few times I went for a mani/pedi it was very busy and I spent almost 2 hours total time in the salon. However, the staff is very friendly, always remembers when you come back. However, I have learned, not all nail salons are the same. If you like your nails a certain shape, length, etc. you must not be afraid to speak up. You are paying for the service. I recently started getting gel manicures here and they last almost 2 weeks. Last night, the gentleman started to apply the color and I did not like it. He told me no problem, and found a color I liked! I went on a Thursday evening and was in and out in 30 minutes for gel polish removal/and new gel manicure! If you go on a Friday evening or Saturday you will wait longer, that's a given. If you are not from the area you will not think this place is 5 star, it is not the "nicest looking salon " you will see, but I go there for their friendliness and convenience.
FYI, this business is now K's Nail Spa under new ownership in Geist. Well, I just received the best gel nail manicure...ever! Gel nail manicures are the new hot thing but it can go wrong if not done correctly. I've been to several places, including BB on 96th street and vveryone has done an okay job but have never been 100% satisfied. I made an appointment with Katie whom impressed me with her quality of work. Katie shapped my nails and cleaned up my cutticles PERFECTLY, which is crucial in growing strong long nails, something not everyone can do. I picked out an opaque white, which is ideal for grow out, and topped it off with a pink clear coat at Katie's suggestion. My nails look natural (better than a french manicure, but are now strong as nails. I tipped her BIG for paying such close attention to the details. I was excited! So it goes without saying that I highly recommend K's Nails in our neighborhood in the Geist shopping center next to Marsh, Specks & CVS. Make sure to call ahead and make an appointment with KATIE as she books up fast. Plus, I also like the fact I'm giving my business to a neihborhood establishment here in the Geist area.
