If we paid full price, I probably would have docked another tar. The web ite we booked through had thi room li ted a $165 per night over the memorial day weekend. We jumped on it being that mo t other downtown hotel were upward of $200 for the holiday. My bu ine partn...moreer and I pent Thur & Fri night there with not too many complaint . However, after reading a few review on a couple ite , I till am un ure why they don't in tall full hower door . The entire bathroom i tiled. Toilet and hower are eparated by a gla partition. The partition doe nt fully tretch the length of the hower, o the water tend to pla h out. IMO, if it wa n't po ible to in tall an entire gla door, hower curtain would have ufficed. The witch to the re troom light i to the right of the main door, however the re troom it elf i to the left. The bathroom ink i to the right a oon a you walk into the room. My one other complaint i the parking fee . When booking online, it fir t appeared we would be able to pay an \"overnight flat fee\" of $10. Once we arrived, we noticed that the $10 flat fee i only good until 2am. If your tay doe n't include crui ing downtown treet during the witching hour , you actually have to pay $30 for 24 hour of parking. You can elf park to get that rate, or you can u e valet--it come out to the ame $30. We opted to elf park ince we were not too ure how long it would take for valet to retrieve the car. We were in town for bu ine , o there wa not a lot of free time to dawdle. There are a good amount of pro to thi hotel. The view from the third floor of Downtown San Diego i beautiful both during day and night. The cheape t food option we found within walking di tance wa Wendy' and a fre h baked large pizza from 7-11. They have 3 different HBO channel . If you don't want to u e wifi, they do provide an ethernet cable for internet connection, which I appreciate. They provide 2 water bottle per day a well a coffee, both regular and decaf. Their fitne center i open 24 hr , although I wa not able to u e it. Mo t of the taff wa really friendly. The maid came to clean when we were till in the room, o we ent her away. Before he left, he made ure we had all the upplie we needed...toilet paper, water, hampoo, etc. One of the valet guy threw dirty look , but whatev. If Hotel Tonight ha another pecial on thi hotel, we might ju t tay again. If you do download the hotel tonight app, make ure you u e promo code \" Saenz3\" to get $25 off your fir t booking. Every little bit help ! Safe travel everyone... Thi area i mo tly one way treet , o let me offer mall tip. When outhbound on Front St, look for parking on the left ide ju t a you pa C treet. If you pa it, you can till pull over in front of the hotel for valet. If you're determined to elf park, turn left on Broadway (Broadway run both way ), and left again on fir t. The fir t parking lot on the left ide i for the Sofia. Parking permit machine goe to leep after inactivity, o if it look off, ju t hit a button to wake it up. It accept both ca h and credit. view less

She will enjoy de cribing to you how he named the tore after a popular San Diego merchant, Captain Fitch, who owned everal mercantile tore in Old Town for many year during the mid to late 1800' . Pam ay that he ha acce to copie of Captain Fitche manife t and actually carrie many of the ame item that hi mercantile tocked back in the 1800' . She explain that Captain Fitch' tore carried a wide variety of title and he wa in fact the fir t merchant to bring non- ecular book to San Diego. Pam i a elf proclaimed "bookaholic" and he regularly hold book igning at her tore with a focu on children' author . She take great care to tock an a ortment of book for the young reader a well a the old, and he literally carrie gho t torie et in every ingle tate in the United State . Miranda’ Courtyard

When you walk into Miranda' Courtyard in Old Town, you can almo t gue that the tore, like Old Town it elf ha a hi tory. Miranda' Courtyard, a family owned bu ine pecializing in home and garden merchandi e, wa actually renovated and de igned by the owner Don and Su...more ie Ca h, with the help of their daughter, Monica Putland, and her hu band Randy. Don and Su ie purcha ed the pot back in1992, and it took them four year to renovate and reclaim the hou e that tood there. The building that u ed to occupy the pot at the corner of Congre and Twigg Street wa an adobe hou e built in the 1940' by a tone ma on. The Ca h family reque ted that the San Diego a e or rate the hou e at zero, and once thi wa approved Su ie began planning a de ign for the tructure. Ba ed off of Su ie' de ign, Don and Randy both worked tirele ly on the recon truction of the hou e in which they replaced the wall , roof, deck, and added over 3000 brick . The hou e wa not ju t a recon truction but al o a reformation project a an old redwood fence that the family alvaged from their hou e wa u ed a a wall behind the counter. The kitchen counter and ca h regi ter counter were al o built u ing part of the reproce ed floor. Don and Randy al o replaced ome part of the old floor with tile in everal of the room and refurbi hed the remaining area . Finally, with the San Diego Planning Commi ion and Old Town Planning Commi ion' approval, Miranda' Courtyard wa born and opened her door to the public in 1996. After four year of hard work, the hop i now one of the mo t unique and eye catching pot in Old Town. High adobe wall enclo e the tructure; it outer edifice completely enveloped in triking purple Bougainvillea, a flowering vine native to South America, Peru, and Argentina. Once you tep in ide you are immediately welcomed to an expan ive courtyard which feature a large water fountain. Walk along the outer corner of the hou e, and you encounter the old room ; the wall ta tefully renovated in ru tic cedar. Each room i now completely filled with Mexican art, pottery, pot , wind chime , and the feature item that et Miranda' apart from the re t of the tore in Old Town; their wide variety of clay and ceramic un .
