THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH ON "REAL" LAWYERS: Recently I got into a bit of trouble. I've NEVER been in trouble before. It was one of those nights I've heard people say before like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. A night out that you never intended to end up that way. Not nearly as bad as that movie "The Hangover" but similar as I woke up in Jail and had no clue how I got there! There I was in SERIOUS trouble with the law! I had to act immediately and I hired a lawyer that was recommended to me by a friend and without doing any research I hired him desperately...BIG mistake! Eventually I found out he was just wanting my money and telling me the things I wanted to hear at the time. After an appearance in court, I started finding out the information he gave me was not completely correct. Questioning him on it, he told me he would get back to me. I then had to follow up with his assistance several times with NO response from him! It was a firm and I never got the same lawyer on my court dates. I knew I was in trouble and I was SCARED! I eventually had to fire him after meeting with him about a list of complaints and misinformation that was given to be by the firm. He was what I later found out to be a paper-pusher type lawyer. The type that tell you all the magical BS words and mind games to make you feel like they care but really they want to do what will get them the most money and leave you with the outcome to your case that will make it easiest for them. This was a very reputable firm and I could believe how disappointed i was. This was my LIFE! I needed a lawyer to take it that seriously! Could this be the BEST I could hope for? I fired him and started searching for the "Real Lawyers." My search started online as I did as much research about my case and trying to select the right lawyer to interview. I soon found out that it was going to be tougher than I expected. After much research I narrowed my search down to three lawyers. The first was like my original lawyer that I had just fired promising me everything he could do and saying how easy this was all going to be. How easily he could win my case for about the same fee. The Second lawyer was charging a lot more money for my case and told me how difficult my case was going to be. He pointed out my charges and sternly asked if I knew the severity of them to the point of making me FEEL like I was guilty and a bad person. He promised to win my case but it was going to be tough and because of that it was going to cost more. The third lawyer was Chip Lewis and he turned out to be the one I would hire. Chip Lewis was the ONLY one to call me back himself. He also was the only one who looked into my case before he even met with me. The other lawyers told me to bring the paperwork with all the information I had. Chip took my case very serious and told me all the facts about what could happen to me with my case. His fee was just a little higher but realistic, and now I know he was worth every single penny! From the very beginning he was different than the others and worked with me side by side. I FINALLY felt like he was on my side and it wasn't me against my lawyer! It was US against the courts. He didn't make me any promises and told me he would work diligently to get me the very best outcome that we could get from the court. Chip Lewis had the knowledge and the wisdom to back up every single thing he told me to expect. He told me that it was innocent people like me who get lost in the system that he was working hard to try and protect. For several months he did work hard and showed up with me in court every single time. He called me back, not his assistant, and he worked hard for ME and HIM. In the end, he got both of my charges dismissed. It was a miracle and it was ALL because I hired a "REAL LAWYER" named Chip Lewis! Thank you Chip Lewis...thanks for my Life!
For years I have maintained a very active and healthy lifestyle, but for some reason I could never lose the “extra weight” around the middle. I made the decision to have liposuction, and after reading many online reviews, I decided to have a consultation with Dr. Steely. I will never forget that day because it was the first day to the start of the rest of my life. From the moment I walked through the office doors, the staff was so friendly and listened to every concern and question I had. When I met with Dr. Steely, I was blown away by his professionalism, compassion, and understanding of what I was looking for with the procedure. He thoroughly explained what liposuction would entail and answered every question I presented. I left the office that day, with peace of mind knowing that I would be in caring and very skilled hands during the surgery. The surgery experience could not have been better. The staff and doctors at 1st Street Hospital are top notch. They made sure I was comfortable as soon as I walked through door until I left the recovery room. It also helped to hear the wonderful things they had to say when I told them Dr. Steely was my surgeon. “He is the Best!”, “He is always putting his patients first.” were just a few of the comments that were made, and I knew I had made the right decision. The follow-up care with Dr. Steely and his staff is second to none! Cindy, Heather, and Angela were helpful, caring, and very professional. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable with every aspect from financial, scheduling, and follow-up care. They were so friendly and were always so excited to see me on any return visits to the office. The results from the liposuction surgery are amazing, and I could not be happier with the way I look. Dr. Steely really understands the importance of body proportion, and it shows with my results! I have a beautiful hour glass shape and a flatter and smaller waistline. At 3 months out I was thrilled with the results and I really couldn’t believe my eyes at 6 months out! I am now 9 months post-surgery and jump for joy every time I look in the mirror. I can’t believe the gorgeous figure I get to look at every single day! Dr. Steely’s experience and skills really shine every time I look in the mirror. I have a new outlook about my body following the procedure. I no longer want to hide or cover up my figure. Before the liposuction, I would often decline to pareti9ciapte in social activities for fear of what people were thinking about the way my “middle section” looked. This procedure has given me new outlook and a new confidence about life and nothing is holding me back. My friends compliment me on my new look and how it seems to have really brought out the best in me. I can’t thank Dr. Steely enough for this wonderful gift of renewed self esteem and self confidence and the amazing figure I proudly show off every day! The day I met with Dr. Steely and his staff truly was the first day of the rest of my life, and I would not change a single thing.
This was definitely the best experience I've ever had at a dentist, period! I, like most people, absolutely hate going to the dentist. I have had too many horrible experiences with dentists in the past. As soon as I walked into the door of her office, I knew I had found the perfect dentist. WOW! The office is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and feels like a 5-star hotel or spa! I have never seen a dental or medical office quite like it! I didn't realize I was in a dental office until I actually sat in the dental chair. Once meeting Dr. Wilmore, she totally changed my negative outlook on dentists and truly put me at ease! She has such a friendly, honest, and caring demeanor and is extremely thorough and informative of any procedure she is performing. She thoroughly discusses all your options, along with her opinions of what's best for your situation, and ensures that you understand what is the best treatment option for you before proceeding any further. Dr. Wilmore also constantly makes sure you are comfortable and pain free during your entire experience. She is extremely knowledgable and professional and treats you with such respect and kindness and she truly LISTENS to you and takes your thoughts and needs into consideration. Her attention to detail and perfectionism is unmatched. Before my treatment began, Dr. Wilmore showed me my digital X-rays on the high-tech flat screen monitor mounted above the chair so I knew exactly what the problem I was experiencing was. During my PAINLESS extraction and root canal I watched a video of the Virgin Islands that made me so relaxed I truly felt I was on a tropical vacation! Not to mention the beautiful view from the 9th floor windows overlooking the Memorial area. I seriously didn't want to leave the dental chair! I forgot I was at the dentist. The entire staff treated me with such kindness, respect, and hospitality that I truly felt like part of the family. You will not find a better dentist anywhere! GUARANTEED!!! Dr Wilmore is definitely one-of-a-kind!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!
Choosing the right vet for your pet can be tough. After all, your furry friend can't tell you how he or she feels about the doctor. Even though you're not the one treated by the vet, whoever your animal sees is obviously your decision. Since many veterinary diseases and injuries can turn into emergencies very quickly, it's important to have a go-to vet. This way, you can ensure you'll know whom to see when your animal needs care.
Speak to your friends and family about vets who've treated their pets. You can even talk to your groomer or an animal shelter worker for referrals. When you visit the clinics you've been referred to, check that the facility is clean, animals are separated and the staff is calm and courteous. Not all clinics are American Animal Hospital Association accredited. This accreditation isn't a legal necessity, though a clinic that's AAHA-accredited is guaranteed to offer high-quality medical care. To receive accreditation, the clinic has to meet the AAHA's standards in the areas of facility, equipment and quality care.
If you're looking for a specialist, you want to make sure he or she is board-certified to practice in that specific area of animal medicine. You'll want to make sure your vet is also convenient to visit, so there are factors to take into account.
The type of animal you own should play a part in which vet you choose as well. While your options are vast if you have a dog or cat, you may have to visit an avian clinic for your bird or an exotics clinic for your snake.
Just as there are many types of doctors, there are many types of vets. Some focus on livestock or house pets, while others may specialize in dentistry or surgery. They may work in a veterinary clinic or zoo, working specifically with the animals housed there, or travel to farms to work with livestock. Since horse racing and other equestrian activities are so popular, some vets are trained to work just with horses.
Diseases, like malaria and yellow fever are also transmitted through animals. Some vets have insight to diseases that affect both humans and animals. Vets have contributed to the treatment and cure of many diseases that plagued both humans and their furry friends.
Government agencies employ veterinarians as well. When an animal comes from a foreign land, these vets quarantine them and check for any diseases that may be present in an effort to control new diseases that can be brought into the country. Other Specific types of vets include:
A vet assistant works alongside the veterinarian and helps out around the clinic. In some cases, they may assist vets in surgery or restrain struggling animals during tests or lab work. The everyday duties of a veterinary assistant include; monitoring and caring for animals after surgery, keeping medical records, cleaning animals' teeth, feeding and bathing them, cleaning cages, sterilizing surgical equipment, giving animals medication, collecting samples for testing and performing laboratory tests, and offering grief counseling to pet owners.
It's a good idea to bring your pet to the vet regularly. This way, he or she becomes familiar and comfortable with the care providers, and you can stay on top of your pet's preventative care. If the animal is small enough, bring it to the office in a carrier. Just as you visit the doctor for a yearly check up, you should bring in your pet for regular check ups as well. During a routine veterinary visit, the vet will probably begin by asking you if there have been any changes in your pet's behavior or habits.
The vet will then take your pet's vitals, like weight, temperature, pulse and respiration rate, and perform a physical examination of the pet. During a physical exam, the vet checks the abdomen for swollen organs, and the legs, feet and joints for any potential problems. Depending on the age, breed or condition of your pet, your veterinarian may also check the eyes, ears and mouth.
When your vet conducts a full body examination, he or she will check out your pet's coat and skin, noting any hair loss, itchy spots or lumps. Keep note of your animal's shedding habits so you can let the vet know if anything seems abnormal. The vet will check for parasites, fleas, ticks, mites and heartworms as well.
Vaccinations are also important to your pet, especially if you have a cat or a dog, and your vet will suggest that you make sure they're current. Keeping up to date with vaccinations can prevent your furry friend from getting distemper, rabies, hepatitis and lyme disease. Some vaccinations last longer than others, so speak to your doctor about staying caught up with your animal's shots.
Just like your own health insurance, you want to make sure your animal is covered before he or she needs veterinary services. Some common animal surgeries can cost thousands of dollars, and you don't want to end up having to foot a surprise bill that costs more than your paycheck.
There's no set price for pet health insurance. Costs can depend on factors such as where you live, the age and breed of your pet, and how much coverage you want. Before you take out a pet insurance policy, you'll want to meet with your vet to go over what he or she thinks your animal should be covered for. Many vets believe that you should make sure cancer, chronic disease, hereditary and congenital disease, and common breed-related medical conditions are all addressed in your policy.
Some pet owners can't afford insurance for their pet, so there are other options to make paying for surprise pet visits as easy as possible. Some pet stores have wellness plans - which tend to be much cheaper than an insurance policy - that offer shots, check ups, screenings and discounts on various procedures your pet may need. A lot of veterinary offices offer payment plans for pricey procedures as well, as long as you have decent credit history. For a last-ditch option, there are even privately funded organizations that offer pet owners financial aid for their pet's treatments.
