Karma Relaxation Spabustersd10 rated
relaxation

Hillcrest is a neighborhood that celebrates diversity. As new business open, they bring different cultures, ideas, and worldviews to the residents, enriching the community and making the area a successful melting pot of people and perspectives from around the world. Wit...moreh the grand opening of Karma Relaxation Spa at 3969 1st Avenue, Jing Sun and her family bring a new cultural perspective to the spa business. Instead of the guilty luxury that most people imagine, they wanted to introduce a more traditional Chinese model that offers the same high quality treatments as other facilities but at a much more accessible price for the average person. The 3969 location on 1st Avenue has everything they want, 4,000 square feet of space, a nice and modern glass exterior, it was near University and the heart of the community and had a parking lot outside and in back. Jing explains that in China, everyone gets massages; they are so common that many people get them every day after work. On weekends, it is common for an entire family to spend a day at a spa. The facilities are usually several stories tall, and clients will remove their shoes and walk into the men’s or women’s shower to rinse off. After showering, you enter another room and get full body sea salt scrub. Walking to the second floor, there are many different steam rooms, wet and dry, some with wood, others with stone. Once you are done, on the third floor there is a common area where everyone relaxes, talks, exercises, and plays games together while waiting for a foot and body massage. After the massage, you go to the top floor where there is another common area with a buffet table, so everyone finishes the day eating and socializing well into the night. Americans, while very sexually open, are much more shy and cautious about their bodies than people are in China, so they could not duplicate the model, but had to adapt it to American comfort levels. The result is a large facility offering body and foot massages, Vichy showers, detox treatments, milk or honey baths, and a sauna at a fraction of the price. The President package, one of their most expensive, last about three hours and includes a 60 minute body massage, a 60 minute foot massage, a 15 minute body detox, a Vichy shower, a milk or honey bath, and a sauna treatment followed by a hot towel wrap, all for $79.99! While they could charge two to three times the price and still be less expensive than most, they would rather make up the difference in volume so that everyone can afford the physical and emotional benefits of regular and frequent treatments instead of keeping it as an expensive infrequent indulgence. Featuring seven top-of-the line fully adjustable foot massage lounge chairs, and ten massage tables in spread between eight themed rooms, high quality gold paint gives the different sections a warm radiance that is tempered by sheer curtains diffusing of the light. Smells of lavender and vanilla relax your mind while arousing the senses. Open from 10:00am to 11:00pm seven days a week, there is little doubt that this is a cultural experience that the community will whole-heartedly embrace. As the buffet of different regions, countries, and traditions expands, residents increasingly get to pick and choose from the best that the diversity of the world has to offer. When you can enjoy an authentic Italian lunch at Buonissimo, a Chinese styled spa afternoon at Karma, and finish it off with a Turkish coffee and hookah at Istanbul, all without setting foot on a plane, or even leaving your own neighborhood, then you know you truly live in America’s Finest City. view less

Ue kara Grillyourmagazineusa rated
UE Kara Grill

Turning the tide and getting jobs back is Master Sushi Chef Gerardo Torres. Behind the counter at Ue Kara Grill he is serving up quality Sushi with jalapenos and cilantro. Thus knocking out the wasabe supplier and serving the balance of trade, keeping it all home grown and l...moreocally owned. The tea is Yamamotoyama though. At the helm of Ue Kara Grill is Arturo Ayala of Chula Vista. Building it through sweat equity, no bank's outrageous loans to tie him down. At times I think, "Like Sancho Panza he is chasing fish gills." I'd like to say he is 25 years too late but he is only 23 years old, shouldn't he be going Chinese? Whatever the case I will be fascinating to see his business grow. Torres is a creative chef with 15 years at Ichiban in PB and a two-year stint as head chef at Sushiya in Otay Ranch. Ayala's grandfather was the largest exporter of fish in the state of Morenos, Mexico. They have a fighting chance in a tough downtown market. Try the Sashimi Mexican Style. I had it with Yellow Tail Tuna, but I think with Salmon may have been a better selection. The dish was topped with jalepeños, lemon, cilantro, a seaweed salad and gobo. Nonetheless, it was a nice surprise like a jumbo ceviche and a beautiful photo op. In fact all of Torres' creations are almost too pretty to eat. The decor is not yet much to look at, but there is tile for a new floor in one corner, new higher tables are on order, and a liquor license application has been filed. Yogata! That is Japanese for Que Bien! He has a 42 inch flat panel in place and a large projection screen. Outdoor seating is available. There were no Foo Fighters, in fact the place was a bit too silent, make your mark drop off some classical Biwa (a pear shaped lute) or some hardcore Japanese punk. Ue Kara Grill also has a great selection of Udon Noodles, Bento (lunch) boxes for under $7.00 making it a destination for a quick and convenient downtown lunch and in San Diego, isn't it right to have Sushi with a bit of Mexican flair? view less

Club Exposems.marlab rated

I think this place is bad from hearing so many of the very few number of customers that do go in there and end up having a bad experience or as they say with a happy ending, with the un professional inexperienced female psycho working day time manageing ", its pathetic,...more ladies if u ever feel like working with a manger that is unapprochable gets high and hangs out on her off days drunk as a scunk at the clubs who not only can not answer your questions or build a special bond with all the girls working this is the place. Forget all work related questions , they won't be answered , she will stomp to the owner and act as if she is tattle tailing, this is a joke, then if u want to feel degrated and told ur nothing or f*** you for showing customer Service and devotion good work ethic go out the window , this is the den of dillusion that feels dumb to have no way back . If the owners whinning women feels threaten by ur beauty or genuine style she will make it impossible for you and if that doesn't work she will pout and cry and force you to feel sick to work along side with such a creep and throw u under the bus. This place uses the girls and customers see it . Ladies this is the last place to work at that is negative and leaves ur stomach in knotts . The only nice thing is unrated and unappretiated unfortunately and that is the cool male managers and waitresses that u see temp. And the true well composed few strippers there. Check out all the other clubs first as a heads up and customers make sure there's air conditioning and a girl on stage before you get taken for a few bucks and pay to walk into dissappointment . view less
