I rolled into Quality Transmission as a last ditch effort to see if they could diagnose shifting issues I was having with my Ranger, this, just four days after having the clutch replaced. Thinking major transmission issues were on the horizon, I was toying with the idea of not dropping anymore money into this vehicle and just purchasing something else. Pat had Gary look at the problem and he quickly figured out it wasn't the tranny at all but a known issue of Ford hydraulic clutch systems being very difficult to bleed, hence, air was in the system causing loss of clutch functionality. Gary spent over an hour bleeding the system and checking it out. In the end...shifting was back to normal and as smooth as silk. After Pat presented me with the bill I almost couldn't believe what he was charging based on the time spent. I'd say I stole the service with how cheap it was. I still don't know why he charged so little but I appreciate it. While waiting for service to be completed Pat took numerous phone calls and could easily diagnose transmission issues over the phone for people. I think he keeps a "little black book" with crib notes. A mechanic who can do this, and be right, saves everyone time and money. As an engineer I know my limitations and typically do all my own truck repairs, however, I some cases I know when to leave things to the pros. I'm adding Quality Transmission to my list of preferred places when I need transmission work performed. Thanks again QTS!

These guys have really raised the bar! I have heard and experienced many bad issues with auto repair in the past. I had even trusted some 4 letter named place with fixing my car and it was worse than when I took it to them. I was VERY reluctant in trusting another shop but a friend told me that this place not only fixed their car but any issue they had after, this place solved it and took care of them like a friend. not like these other places. I would tell anyone that is checking reviews to choose the place to go. I say HERE! They have much more than transmission rebuilding. They have friendly staff and took me home 5 miles away and picked me up. Figured out problems even the dealership couldn't fix! I was captivated by that alone. I can not say enough good things about these guys. The Manager there Gary is very upfront and lets you know what costs will be. That is very important to me! They really do everything, except tires. If they did that I would buy them too from these guys! Great job! I will surely tell anyone I hear has a car problem go there! Thank you for taking care of my car!!!!!!!!!!!
You know how there are people who makes worst for all and there are people who makes it all worth it, Dave, Steve and his dad are the people who makes a worthy difference in this world. I moved to STL recently and my transmission failed, no drive no reverse, short on money, I was calling every single transmission shop, people wanted to charge me price of my vehicle for transmission rebuild until I called Dave and he did a total rebuild in 1 day in front of my eyes less than half of the price for anyone else, he was so fast he could do it blind folded, which authenticates his experience of rebuilding over 35 years, and they went out of their way to make sure I got my transmission working well. I recommend Route 66 Transmissions to everyone. Thank you all.
