Girl this is the place to be o...

Girl this is the place to be on any night. I moved here from Cali and I thought I would have to search and search for the perfect spot but I didn't and Oh My God Bruce Bruce is a girls favorite on Wednesday nights. When I first visited Back Stage they had a sheriff on the ...moredoor from Fulton county I believe his nick name was Pittbull and he made sure the club ran right. Even with Cha Cha acting a fool sometimes his little short self came in and took care of any problems big or small. I miss him being on the door. Also the crab night is to die for, the crab legs are so so tasty. My first night there was when Obama won all the votes to become President and I have been back every chance I can get cuz I had sooo much fun I even tell people I know about Back stage if they are new in town or if some of my siblings come to town I tell them that we are going to Back Stage and they have enjoyed themselves every time. I'm still dating the same guy from the night Obama won all the votes to become President. So ladies, Yes the men are there!!! Karaoke night is the bomb if you have talent and would like to perform in front of a live crowd waiting to hear what you got. I did it and won a trophy and money. Go ahead and try Back Stage, you might just like it!!!!! view less

Great Ambiance

Hands down, the best part of the restaurant is the ambiance (as if you couldn't guess). I love pirates, so I was in heaven. The pirate ship looked awesome, the walkways over alligater-infested waters were cool, and the wall decor all fit in with the theme. The mannequins wer...moree kind of creepy though, especially the one in the women's bathroom. I was also disappointed that you have to pay more to eat on the ship, and the ship doesn't open until a certain time at night. The service was great, but not too memorable. The food was ok, and was pretty expensive. I enjoyed the bread and butter the most, actually. I was disappointed that you couldn't choose the kind of medium you wanted to cook your meat in. I was extremely disappointed that they don't serve any kind of dessert fondue unless you call in advance, and the dessert they serve is for like 10 people. So there's no dessert option for a couple who loves chocolate fondue, which seemed ridiculous to me (but maybe I've been spoiled by The Melting Pot.) Overall it was a really fun place to go to just to check it out, but I think in the future I'd go here for drinks only.view less

Great Space

I've been going to the Tabernacle to see shows ever since they converted this space for the Olympics (it was a House of Blues back then). It's a great place to see a concert and boy is it LOUD! I know I'm getting older, but every time I go there I tell myself I need to bring...more earplugs next time. I love the SRO floor space. Just watch out for the barely marked "aisles" (rubber runners on the floor). Security tries to keep them open and to control crowds will often not let you back near the stage if you have to leave for a drink. The first balcony is great too - more mellow but close to the action. The upper balcony is not bad either but the sound isn't nearly as good and this seems to be the loudest part of the venue. Plus you really are way up high. Don't miss out on a chance to see a concert at this converted Baptist tabernacle in downtown and be sure to drop by Sidebar before or after - it's just a few blocks away. view less
