I love Matts!! We 1st ate at Matt's when they opened up on Ferguson road, in a little building. We were gonna eat then go out to the lake, so we had an ice chest with beer and snacks in our car. Matt came out to introduce his self. Told us to bring in our ice chest. They didn't serve beer yet but we could bring our own. As we finished our meal, Matt came and sat down, on the ice chest. We had a great time!! After that we ate at Matt's couple times a month. My daughters always ordered the burritos. They were so huge and yummy! Over the years I've tried everything on the menus, but my all time favorite is Cheese & Onion enchiladas with rice and beans! And used to come with a few chips with queso on the plate, soo good!! What ever brand of cheese they use and how ever they cook it, I've never had anything better! When Matt's moved to Lakewood, I would see women come in with fur coats, and diamonds that would blind you, and sit next to a family with jeans and tee shirts. Everyone had a good time and was treated as an old friend. I am soo glad Matt's is opening up in Allen, it's closer to my home!!!

My wife and I went out to Mi Piaci for a date night and have a really nice experience. As I was choosing a wine from the list, the waiter actually recommended a less expensive Pino Noir than what I was going to select because he felt it had better flavor for less price, and he didn't disappoint. The calamari was great, and the lobster bisque was the best I've had in quite some time. Our entrees, which the waiter helped us choose, were delicious, and we split the chocolate cake to finish things off. The ambiance of the restaurant was somewhat "Dallas" but still very comfy with a beautiful dining room, great lighting, and a pretty view of a pond with a fountain. Overall, a nice place for a mid to upscale dinner.
I've dined in the Egyptian maybe 30 or 40 times. Though Italian is their specialty, they also have an excellent variety and quality of conventional foods. I have hardly ever been in this restaurant when there was not a crowd, especially on weekends. Often the owner, Carlton (Corky) Campisi, son of the original owner Joseph Campisi, can be found in there visiting with local business people or local sports figures. In addition it is not at all uncommon to see any of Corky's three daughters (Amber, Gina or Tara) dining or hanging out at the bar. Some of my favorite dishes at the Egyptian are the Italian Steak, Veal with Angel Hair Pasta, their awesome spagetti and meat balls, and of course they have the best Pizza in Dallas.
