I love, love, love the Costco store in Brookhaven! I like the layout of the store and the customer service is amazing! The employees are genuinely friendly and happy to be there. I usually can find everything I need. When I can't, there is a computer station near the checkouts I go to. They will check and tell me when a particular item is due back in their store. That is a huge help! As far as Kirkland products are concerned, I find them to be at least as good, but often better, than the "name" brands -- and usually cheaper. I have never been disappointed in a Kirkland product. If you have a chance, take a look at the Costco documentary, "The Costco Craze: Inside the Warehouse Giant." You can watch it on You Tube or online through Amazon or Netflix. I watched it when I was hesitating to renew my membership (I am a single person) and, based on what I saw and learned, I renewed. Very informative! I do wish the Brookhaven Costco had a self-checkout line -- like the Peachtree-Dunwoody Costco does -- for customers with few items. But, as far as I am concerned shopping at Brookhaven Costco is a 5-star experience!
I'm from Florida so, Publix is my life. I just love this store. Let's start off with the fact that their whole mission is to please the customer. I mean this is where shopping is a pleasure. I could go on and on about this store , but let me tell you about the other night. It was late and I think the store closed while I was in there . I saw the manger ask one of the bag boys to count the guest so, I started to rush. I knew I would hear an announcement about them closing in five minutes , but I never did. I continued my shopping and brought my groceries up front to check out. The manger was there and I apologized for keeping them so late. He advised me that there was no need to apologize and then asked me if I had everything I needed. I told him yes and asked why he didn't make an announcement that the store was closing and he responded by saying, "why would I mess up your shopping experience for that. We close when you leave" This just gave me another reason to love this place!
I've been going to this Kroger for a number of years now, and it was always a little sketchy. They had cheap prices usually, but their produce and meat/fish was not reliable. Sometimes I would get home and find the meat or fish was already bad. However, the past year or so this place has really spiffed up. Their produce is looking better and I haven't had as bad of luck with the meat. It is annoying that you have to have a Kroger card to get their sale prices, and their "sales" aren't always good deals, but it is a reliable cheap grocery store.
