Als Stand is like a treasure in the middle of the city. Family owned for 70+ years. Going in is like going back to the 1950's, but originally, not re-made 50's like other restaurants. The food is burgers, fries, fun food but with homemade italian sausage, fresh sliced rib eye steak and original hot sauce that has been a family recipe since 1936. And when your ready for dessert, they make the original italian lemon ice thats the best ever! Its worth the trip just for the homemade italian ices. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Al's Stand for over 40 years now, and have watched 3 generations own/operate it. thats why its my favorite restaurant.
This business has been around for decades. They began in Hilton New York, tragically it burned to the ground. Hundreds of local crafters and antique dealers now sell they finest goods at the Ridge Road location. I was drawn to Cranberry Cove by the enticing aroma's of the Ambient Candle Company to the left as I walked through the massive coop. Wonderful atmosphere, hundreds of diffent holiday gifts to choose from, really nice peoople.
Spin is a tiny cafe on the popular Park Avenue in the city with parking behind the cafe (an important criteria for selection as parking is at a minimum there). It compares to other local coffee houses, although its small size is a slight negative. In addition, I've noticed that they're slow in cleaning tables, so patience is important.
