I searched out China Town and the surrounding area. The locals warned me to stay away from the empty places. Most of the places at 3pm in China Town were empty. I stumbled upon the Golden Horse and was going to go in but the place was packed and while a perused their menu a tour bus filled with people showed up. I tried their lunch the next day. Atmosphere was casual. Tables had lazy susans in the center of the tables and the waitress would bring a dish place it on the susan and the occupants of the table would turn and take what they wanted. Portions are a plenty and the quality of food is wicked good. I had the Kung Pao Chicken, with white rice and egg rolls.. Highly recommend this establishment.
Henry's has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I like to go after 3pm to get less of the lunch crowd. I recommend the dumplings, Marty's Special (the smoked ham is delicious), stringbeans with meatsauce (simple dish, but the spicy garlic pork sauce makes it perfect), Henry's Special, Spicy and hot rock cod filets, and the Mongolian chicken. I can go on and on. Every dish is really good! I would ask for Ming, the head chef. You can guarantee a great meal if it is cooked by her. She has been working there for over 20 years!
This place have very great food for the price I pay. The food is amazingly delicious. I always buy porridge here because they give a great amount of meat and eggs in my order. As for regular menu to go, they hand out tons of great tasting food when I order. The price here us very fair and it's worth it for a quick stop to eat Chinese cuisine.
