GREAT COOL Doctor: Too Much Milk Intake can cause Severe Iron Deficiency Anemia: My son Nelson was well , gaining weight , and playful, seems very normal to me. I brought him to see Dr. Truong for 2 y.o well child check up 2 months ago. Before seeing Dr Truong, the medic...moreal assistant asked many questions about nutrition: what he eats, what he drinks, how much, how many times per day... When walked in the exam room, Dr Truong looked at my son, did the routine exam and gave him shots. She then again asked many more questions about his nutrition. When I told her that my son drinks around 40-45 oz of whole milk, and 2 bottles of orange juice per day, for more than 6 months, and he did not eat solid food. She then told me firmly that I should cut the milk amount to 20 oz per day, cut the orange juice to the minimum, drinks much more water instead, and try to feed him more nutritious solid food. She explained to me that drinking too much milk inhibit his appetite, and also can cause Iron deficiency anemia...ect... She ordered some blood test the same day, and made appointment for follow up the following week. But the next day, her receptionist called me saying that Dr Truong wanted to see us immediately: my son had moderate to severe Iron deficiency anemia with hematocrit went down to 26. She then reassured me, explained to me in details about my son condition, instructed me carefully about the importance of the right and healthy nutrition..., and give prescription of Iron. With only simple Iron drops daily, and the right nutrition, after only one month, my son's anemia is completely resolved, but he had to continue Iron drops for total 6 months. From this incidence, I learned a lot from her, how logic and simple way to feed and raise a child. And how serious it can happen to our children if we go on the wrong path. I don't have enough words to say how grateful I'm for her kind help, her precious experience, dedication to the job so well done. Amanda view less

Great Value in Walking Distance to the Convention Center

Stayed here last August during the Search Engine Strategies conference and greatly enjoyed it. I got into town quite early on the first day of the conference, but the front desk staff was more than willing to secure my bag so I would not have to roll it around with me at the...more nearby convention center until check-in time. They also promised to accommodate an early check-in if possible, and shortly after my first conference session, I walked a short half-block from the convention center and was in fact able to check in early. My room was spacious, nicely appointed and quite comfortable. The complementary wireless was a definite plus, especially given the nature of the conference I was attending. Having the ability to log on to check e-mails and stay in touch with the office as well as family back home was great. I intended to use the gym facilities on that visit but opted to walk the city for my fitness needs instead. I do plan to stay there again for the conference this year, and do plan to use the gym facilities this time around. The only drawback I experienced was that my room was one of the diagonally situated rooms facing the plaza across the street, by the second of three nights I'd had my fill of noise from sirens, planes and trains. Still, the accommodations were comfortable enough that I was able to rest well and wake feeling refreshed during most of my stay. Highly recommended!view less

I have been staying at the Clarion Inn on Monterey Road in San Jose for several weeks. This hotel is by far the best hotel in the area, for the money. The rooms are good size, clean and have been remodeled fairly recently. The TV's are all large flat screens with a lot of ch...moreannels. Breakfast is wonderful and FREE. I stay in one of the rooms that offer the jacuzzi tub because I have a bad back. Rooms on the 3rd floor have vaulted ceilings that make the space feel wide open and extra large. If you have any needs or questions, ask for Fred and he will help you. The customer service is almost the best feature when you stay at this hotel as they aren't happy unless you have a great stay. Bottom line is this is an excellent hotel with great amenities and customer service for the price. view less
