I had been wanting to learn Capoeira for many years but never lived near an opportunity. I moved to ABQ in Feb of 2010 and began taking classes in March. My first impressions of the owner/instructor Mestre Virgulino were a humble and very positive man. When I began classes I had been out of training for anything for years due to 2 wrist surgeries and a back surgery and weighed nearly 350lbs. Mestre Virgulino has had patience and sincere pride in teaching myself and all of his students, with his help I've lost over 90lbs and I will be receiving my first promotion this week. Let me also stress, this is not your normal McDojo, but it is also not the modern MMA academy, if you are looking for either of these, you may as well go home. Mestre Virgulino was born and raised in Brazil, and teaches not only the physical movements of Capoeira, but the culture and the art of it as well. When you arrive to train here you know you will be given all the tools necessary to grow in this art. Give it a try, I did.

I am a student of Kung Fu San Soo Albuquerque. I am one of the most proud students ever! I came into this martial art with absolutley no training in any type of any other before. Not only do I attend, my Fiance and our 2 sons attend also. It has brought a sence of peace and humility into our homes. Instructor Ish is truly a one of a kind person. He brings the art to a realization and makes you want to learn and come back for more. He is Genuine and his teachings are inspiring. I had no idea how to move my body or even had the confidence to think that i could ever do something this great. Kung Fu San Soo is a life saving self defense, a family, an art, a life changing martial art. I would reccomend this to anyone of any age of any size of any back ground. My family and I feel safe and confident and greatful. Not to mention, you get in great shape, you meet amazing people, you make life long changes. I am blessed to have been led to Ish and Kung Fu San Soo. Take it from me, you wont regret it!!
My son and I attended Champion Taekwondo Center, for over 11years, we both received our black belts in Taekwondo. Now I have my grandson in Taekwondo, he has been doing it for over 3 years, and is halfway there to his black belt. Master Ballard has worked with us, and is a great inspiration to all of us. I do notice that my youngest son has obtained great values by doing Taekwondo, and has respect for any authority figure, and my Grandson is learning to obey and respect authority also. I recommend Taekwondo to all my friends who have children, and Combat Hapkido for self-defense to all women. I also recommend that they go to Champion Martial Arts, because Master Ballard has the experience in all forms of Martial Arts, and know how to work with children and individuals, to make it a great experience, so that you enjoy attending his Martial Arts School. It is worth the fees they charge, which are minimal, compared to most Martial Arts schools.
