I have been re iding here at The Hotel Mirabelle for over a week now and realize that, for a very good price, I have di covered an exceptional boutique hotel of San Franci co. Thi very well taken care of victorian property i donned with vibrant color and eloquently apropo...more decoration that define era' pa ed and variou place in the world. It i a maller, cozy hotel with her two torie . There are larger gue t room facing the treet that have tho e lightly rounded window characteri tic of SF victorian . I inquired about one of the e room for a mall rate increa e. That i , from a weekly rate of $225 for the regular room to a weekly rate of $280 for the ' tep up,' which were not available to me due to their already being occcupied. A gentleman who over ee the hotel wa giving me a welcome tour of the entire place when we came upon a woman teadfa tly preparing one of the room for a new tenant, I wa introduced to her, the owner, who e demeanor wa per onable and unobtru ive. Three room were pre ented to me to choo e from. Each wa a igned a name to de cribe the theme of it unique de ign and obviou ly, to di cern one from the next. I immediately cho e my third option, the Chiang Mai Room. Textile , in hade of deep, dark, red again t a lu h green Backdrop grabbed my intere t. The cleverly picked antique furniture piece each erved to function throughout the pace. The room eemed quite mall (but with tall ceiling ) at fir t. While lying on the well uited, full- ized bed, the room began to feel much larger and very comforting. I noticed Ralph Lauren bedding with deep reddi h ateen dama k heet enveloped by a gorgeou handmade quilt. On the door, there hung, a affron colored ilk bathrobe of which I wore everyday. There were many colorful prop and antique furni hing from abroad to complete the Northern Thai atmo phere that became my per onal, quality pace for eight night . To boot, nice new ink , microwave , and refrigerator/freezer equip each room. A tv i included upon reque t, with an antennae, devoid of cable or atellite. there i , ea y to acce , complimentary hi peed wirele , of which I indulged. The toilet room are ituated at the end of the long hall on each floor, parkling clean with new looking everything. They are bracketed by two eparate hower room , al o very clean with new gla door , fixture , and tile , imilar to their counterpart . A very accomodating manager named Buddy re ide in the hotel. Between hi pre ence, two eparated teel, locking entry door and the ecurity camera pointed only where they ought to be, I feel very afe here. It i important to note that, the Hotel Mirabelle i generally very quiet. Rarely have I potted a gue t (two during my entire tay). For the mo t part, I feel like I have the place to my elf, although I know thi i not true. Every time I walk into the hallway, I ee no one, only Victorian Charm. The bathing facilitie , I al o have never een anyone u e during my tay and alway appear poli hed. A week i the minimum length of tay here and then a daily rate of $45 can be impo ed, which include tax. I have tayed in many of the B&B' and boutique hotel that San Franci co offer . New to me i the Hotel Mirabelle. She i very San Franci co - e que with her victorian feature while delightfully inexpen ive. You mu t call for an appointment to vi it the hotel, Don't he itate in taking thi extra tep to becoming a gue t. A week at the Mirabelle i a weet deal and like taking a breath of fre h aire. view less

I travel to San Franci co annually to participate in the Nike Women' Marathon. U ually I travel with a team and my accommodation are taken care of, but thi year I participated in the event on my own. A with the race regi tration each year, the hotel in the area fill up...more quickly. And with the tart line being at Union Square, location i everything! I found the Mo er quite by accident on one of the large travel ite . It wa offered a part of a package deal with one caveat - I could get the package (round trip from outhern California and a four night tay) for ju t over $300 (di count applied), but the only room available wa a \" ingle.\" The e room have a ink and mirror in them, but u e a hared toilet and hall bath, all of which gave me pau e becau e bathroom time i important when preparing for - and after - a marathon, for variou rea on . Still, though I had my concern , my choice were limited, o I took the deal, ingle room and all, and I have to ay, I wa NOT di appointed. Though not huge, my ingle wa clean and nicely decorated, and all in all wa paciou enough for my need . Better till, it wa ju t block away from Union Square, and afforded me ea y proximity to the tart line. It i al o convenient to the Powell St. BART tation, and the hotel 4th treet location inter ect Market St., and i within walking di tance to myriad hop , re taurant and entertainment de tination . I wa a bit concerned about treet noi e, but the reality i , even when I tayed on the 14th floor of a nearby four- tar hotel, I till could hear noi e all night. There eem to be no e caping it if your de tination i Union Square. All in all, the Mo er i a great value for the budget-con ciou , and for tho e looking for a true boutique hotel experience. view less
Ca tle Inn i a really great value. It' in a great location, afe area, central to everything, and walking di tance to mo t everything in the city, or a very cheap uber or lyft ride. There' free parking, but you don't really need a car. Walgreen i right on the corner, an...mored there are plenty of re taurant and bar right around the corner on Polk Street. There' a coffee maker, microwave and a decent ize fridge and freezer in the room, o you can pick up that ice cream from walgreen , bring back your left over , and eat them later in your room. The room are a pretty nice ize, very comfortable, with lot of counter pace. There are newly remodeled room , which are very nicely done. No pet or moking allowed in any of the room , which work well for me. The only rea on that I didn't give it 5 tar i becau e while there i no moking allowed in the room , there' an a h tray by the elevator/ tair , o you often have to walk by moker on your way to and from your room. And if you have a room near the elevator/ tair /a h tray, you get the cigarette moke coming into your room, and the occa ionally late night di turbance of moker hanging out and talking by the a h tray. I wa not too happy about that, and that' why I can only give 4 tar .view less
