Wedding planning and Groom don’t typically go together. In my case, I was in charge of the reception planning by choice. As I met with numerous vendors, I was met with skepticism, dismissal, and the ubiquitous “Where is the bride”. From the first day I met with Lee, the interaction was completely different and I knew instantly Iron Hen was going to be my caterer. Working with Lee and her staff was great! They bent over backwards to accommodate all of my particular needs, desires, and dreams while helping to direct me when needed. Lee was nothing but open and honest in all facets of the process. Lee was gracious in working to develop a menu and reception that not only fit my vision but also my budget. As a frequent customer, I was used to the fun and friendly service that always comes with a smile. The day of the reception was no different. All of our guests commented on the delicious food and the great staff. Everyone felt bad for the two bartenders, who had to stand in the sun, but they didn’t stop serving with a smile and making sure everyone had what they needed. I was also accustomed to the high quality of food and fresh local ingredients. Creating that same plate from the restaurant in a catering setting is immensely difficult. The Iron Hen makes it seem effortless and natural for their food to be that good. Everyone has “hiccups” on the day of their wedding. Although we had our share, Lee made sure to smooth over as many as she could. When our linen order was not complete (unbeknownst to us), Lee made sure that the last table was covered with a linen. When our transportation away from the reception was not there, Lee personally called the hotel to arrange for transportation immediately. The little things and going the extra mile put Lee and the Iron Hen staff in another league from all of the other caterers in the Triad. It is assumed that you and your guests will only remember the reception, but the Iron Hen actually makes it memorable. My wife and I are so happy we chose Iron Hen to cater our reception and would make the same decision in a heartbeat!
People, You have to love ECW (East Coast Wings) because of the upbeat atmosphere with LCD TVs, zero smoking inside, tasty wings and friendly staff. I frequent ECW often and was impressed on my first visit simply because there was no smoking inside!!! (Say YES to clean lungs and no headaches from smokers.) In addition, you can always, that's right, ALWAYS find deals available on their website offering discounted wings, free items, free paid for meals on certain days and other goodies. I generally order wings, a special sauce I like and basket of chips. For those who enjoy watching games, they do have LCD TVs mounted throughout the restaurant and above the bar. As for the rest of the seating, it's tables and booths all around. This restaurant is definitely kid-friendly, so you may bring the kids also. The bathrooms are usually decent and not too cramped inside. The only reason I did not give ECW 5 stars is because there are times where I have to send back my special sauce because it was not mixed correctly or I was given the wrong sauce. As well, sometimes I have to request my basket of chips to be made part floppy and not too hard. I think they should always make the basket of chips this way because who likes eating almost burnt, fried potatoes? Aside from those two things, this is one of my favorite Greensboro and Kernersville wing restaurants. You will enjoy it! Thanks for reading my review.
It was a wonderful restaurant! Upon walking in, I was amazed by the decor! To me it seemed like a very romantic setting, equipped with wonderful art and a beautiful chandelier! The food was great! I had the cajun chicken with rice pilaf and mac n cheese. The chicken was tender and flavorful cut into little teardrop shapes. The mac n cheese was to die for, and the rice was perfectly cooked! The staff was friendly and the chef even came out to the dining room to ask my boyfriend and I how the food was. If your in the mood for a drink, the menu is stock full of all different types of cocktails. I got the Godiva chocolate martini, which included Absolut Vodka, Bailey's and Khalua topped with mint and the glass was drissled with Godiva chocolate syrup! Yummy! The drinks were reasonably priced and it only took one! The only thing I would critique is some of the tables were too close together. We had a couple on each side of us pretty much all in our face which was uncomfortable. So to the owner I would suggest changing this up somehow so couples can have more privacy. I was definitely suggest going here to eat! Especially if your with your significant other! Its reasonably priced and the food is great! Tell your friends and enjoy!
