The Millwood Fire District hired Bond Davis to insure that aging Fire Station #1 was structurally sound. Bond was very helpful to us in developing various alternatives - from low cost to higher cost - to make sure that the building was sound. The District opted for the solution that maximized the work space for the firefighters.
Grigg & Davis developed the construction drawings, managed the bidding process and reviewed the bids to make sure that the bids reflected the work required. The work was completed in June of 2009 and the second floor is now open for meetings! Everyone is happy.

Extremely Thorough
We have worked with G&D for two permitted projects in the last 2 1/2 years, the first was restoring the stone walls around our driveway and front yard, which were cracked and crumbling after 75 years. We were originally referred to them through our most excellent contractor, Arthur Lange Inc. of Bronxville. The second project involved repairing a failing 25 foot retaining wall in our back yard. G&D was able to offer us a solution to repairing the retaining wall, incorporating our preference to control all aspects of the job without having to obtain sign off from neighboring property owners. The design was fully approved by our local Building Department on the first submission. We are homeowners, not professional architects or builders, and we were quite impressed with the amount of time Louise Grigg devoted to handholding, explaining the scope of the job, and the timing of the project, all with patience. Our mason, JMA Landscaping, worked extremely well with this firm, which we think is important to note, and no part of the construction had to be redone. Inspections were thorough and done on site, through all stages of the project. G&D is professional, offers practical solutions, and adds that extra touch of personal support. We definitely recommend this firm and would use them again.

No nonsense engineers. Not interested in creating fantasies of expensive solutions. Practical, understand the cost of the lines they draw. Estimates of their time are right on, and the time it takes for submissions of critcial design is timely.
Two projects that involved situations of life safety were handled with aplomb, good nature, and humor (when the job was complete, that is).

Great service all-around
I have used Grigg & Davis Engineers on my residential remodeling project.
We redesigned the home to allow for a new story addition and put in over a hundred new structural members.
