Just needing time away, so we drove 4 hours to Savannah. As a starwood member, I always choose their hotel brand first. Upon an early moring (5am) arrival, I was greeted and placed in a very nice room.
Modern furnishings, friendly staff, wonderful views, nice golf, relaxing spa, and a beautiful courtyard overlooking the Savannah River and downtown. I will be back, shortly!
Found a place to stay, hope they don't have cockroaches.
We stayed in a balcony room and had an absolutely wonderful time. The service was impeccable. We went down and sat at an outside table where a waiter brought us calamari (delicious). Each table had a miniture gas log fire place. It was very peaceful. We then took the ferry to River St. While at River St we became hungry. I called the hotel and ordered room service. When we came back the hotel called to see if we were ready for our meal and said that they were out of the mashed potatoes I had ordered to go with my steak. I was informed that I could have french fries because it was late and the kitchen was now closed. I was disapointed. I believe that the staff member knew that I was upset because when our meal arrived they took the time to find a baked potatoe. I was very pleased. We had a bottle of wine, opened the doors to the balcony and soaked in the sights and sounds of River St in our comfortably spacious room. It was a really wonderful and relaxing evening. We will definately return. Breakfast was delicious also.
This is a very beautiful, elegant hotel. Rooms are nice and scenic views. It is really neat sitting by the pool and watching a big boat full of freight containers going down the river. Next to the Savannah Convention Center...so that is convenient. At night, it is nice to sit outside by the outdoor fire pits. Also, laying in a hammock by the river is a nice touch too! Banquet food it good.
