Until I went to see Dr. Osborne at the Southern Dental Center of Savannah, I had always loved going to the dentist. That may sound bizarre, but every experience prior to my visit with him had been extremely pleasant. I always left the dentist feeling fresh, clean, confident, and ready for another 6 months of flashing my beautiful clean, healthy teeth. Thanks to Dr. Osborne and his team, I now have anxiety about going to the dentist. The entire time the hygienist was working on the cleaning, she was jamming my gums with pointy objects and incessantly talking. All I wanted her to worry about was my throbbing, bleeding gums, and my gums were bleeding the ENTIRE time. Every time she re approached my mouth I flinched and clenched the sides of the chair for some kind of relief, but there was none. She wasn't even courteous enough to properly rinse the blood out of my mouth. One would think that all this pain would mean that I at least received a good cleaning and polishing of the teeth, but her polishing and flossing performance was less than acceptable. She was not thorough in either of these tasks. And let me just go on the record by saying that I have never had any dental problems. With no cavities, my dentists have always praised me for my at home cleaning. In regards to Dr. Osborne himself, I hardly saw him. He was dismissive, and out of the room so quickly that I didn't even get my questions answered, or a chance to explain that my inflamed gums were due to the recklessness of his hygienist. I left the office with a swollen, tender mouth that plagued me for the next two days.
The staff is very prompt and friendly. I've had alot of dental appointments previously that were sooo painful. Not anymore!!! It's a good feeling to not fear the appointments.
I went to this dental office to have a checkup and cleaning, and I was treated nice by the staff on my first visit. I returned for a followup visit to have a root canal, but the dentist was unable to complete the procedure. I left with an enormous hole in my porcelain crown, and it was also cracked during the procedure. I then went to a highly reputable endodontist in the Savannah area who is now going to have to go into my gum to complete the root canal. I was told by the dentist at this center that I had a calcified canal, and that was the reason that the procedure could not be completed. In actuality, I do not have a calcified canal, and the procedure should have been done by going into the gum to treat the root. When I called this office to explain that I would be seeing a specialized dentist for completion of the procedures that I was referred for in the first place, I was treated with total contempt. I was not even going to mention to them the nightmare that I had gone through with the attempted root canal and the hole that was left in my cracked porcelain crown. After being treated so unethically and unprofessionally, I felt that I needed to make sure that no one else would have to go through what I have with this dental office. Whatever you do, seek dental care from a highly qualified, professional dentist and endodontist for root canal therapy. You will be so much happier that you did, and your peace of mind will be well worth the extra money that you may have to pay for quality dentistry.
Sincerely,
Hoping for Better!
