Great place to take out of town guests for a hearty meal and great ambiance.

This is the most unfriendly pub in the world. The barmaid was rude, did not engage, didn't even crack a smile the whole time we were there. Steer clear of this nasty place!

This cosy bar was the first stop on the Creep Crawl Pub Tour (which is so much fun btw!). Although those waiting for the tour to start had bought drinks, the hostess insisted that everyone wait at the bar, which was packed. I had to ask several times before she finally let us sit at table inside (which was less than half full).
We came back the next night to try the food, which was pretty good and reasonably priced. Service at the table was also good.

I was recently in Savannah visiting from Atlanta and stopped in Six Pence. Now I've eaten here several times and every time there's a problem with the bartender. I don't know if she hates men or out-of-towners but this lady is MEAN! I asked her to make a simple cocktail that involved squeezing fresh lime juice. Her response "I ain't squeezin no limes they're hard as rocks." Five minutes later I see her squeezing a lime for a local female patrons Cosmopolitan. This is just unprofessional. If you do choose Six Pence as your dining option DON'T sit at the bar. And heaven forbid you order a specific cocktail. Stick to beer, water, or tea. Maybe they can get a new bartender in there that's more respectful, honors patrons requests, knows how to tend bar, and most importantly treats everyone equally. That would be great.

- General Info
- The Six Pence Pub was established in the Historic District of Savannah Georgia at a site that had been a Pub for more than forty years. In Savannah, Wally's Sixpence was the place to meet and greet new and old friends, and just keep up with each other's lives. Wally and Doris, being from London England knew how to make our British expatriates, and locals feel right at home. Wally was long on conversation, and Doris would prepare lunch at home ( there was no kitchen in the Pub) to serve to patrons until either it was gone, or when Wally and Doris just wanted to go home for the afternoon. In 1999 two gentlemen with too much time on their hands purchased their favorite watering hole, and began expanding the beer, wine, and liquor, selection as well as adding a full menu of traditional English and American comfort foods. The interior was changed to what you see today. As the months passed the Six Pence Pub & Restaurant became a favorite of locals and tourists alike. We are proud.
