It was 2015 and I made the mistake of not only going to Drs. Long and McCabe for a serious condition that had happened to my eye, but also continuing to trust them. I woke up one morning with a gray banana shape at the bottom of my eye. Instead of taking immediate action, they opted to disregard and dismiss both me, and my condition. They insisted it was a floater, even though I told them it was not. They sent me home with a complete lack of regard for not only my condition, but of me as a person. They certainly did not care one iota for my eyesight. During the time between that and my follow-up appointment, the gray shape worsened into a half moon. It turns out that my optic nerves had swollen and I sustained irreversible damage to my optic nerve, including also damage to the rods and cones in my eyes. Just this year, I was asked "Why didn't they give you steroids?"--to halt the damage. They saw fit that they could just get away with disregarding everything about me as if I didn't matter, which I apparently didn't to these doctors at Eye Associates. Maybe they have select patients that they judge more worthy of their care and support and respect, but I certainly wasn't one of them. I would suggest not taking the gamble that you make it onto their patient "A-List" and get a second opinion or even a third opinion from an actual expert in the eye doctor world--one who actually cares about all their patients, regardless of any snap judgment they have chosen to make about patients like myself.
