It's funny, the CCC has been around for 20 years and still, I've lost track of the number of times that I've talked to "locals" and "natives" who say, "the chicken cafe..?"
Oh, my. As has been said, this place is GREAT. Plenty of meal options starring chicken (think: huge salads, wraps, side salads, pasta salads, etc) great for a quick lunch or dinner (under $10!)
There is something slyly addictive about the dressings they use...read more about my love for CCC here: http://offthecouchla.blogspot.com/2011/04/california-chicken-cafe.html

So I went to CCC the other day because a lot of my friends told me that I need to eat there. I'm new to LA so when I walked up and saw about 100 people in line, I was going to die.
BUT, after eating their Caesar Salad, I have to say, you MUST eat there if you're on the West Side. The pita chips are amazing and the salad wasn't overly dressed, which I hate. 5 stars for this tasty treat!

I would not be complete without California Chicken Cafe! It is an excellent option for lunch or dinner that is easy and healthy. I highly recommend the Asian Chicken Salad, as I almost get it everyime I go. It is a large portion as well, so I generally share it with my boyfriend. I take out all the time, enjoy!!!

Big rush descends on the place for lunch and there's limited seating, but it turns over quickly.
Meals here are a lot like eating at Whole Foods a couple blocks away. It is possible to sit close to the rotisserie, which takes a bit off the fast food experience. All in all, chicken is good, and sides/salad bar is good (not great, but reliably good). Convenient for carry out, if you walk over or get lucky in their tiny guarded back pkg lot.

I have been to this chain at other locations.
Food - I like the food but I can agree with some of the other comments that most items are very similar.
Service - Just ok, the staff is not outwardly rude, but they are not necessarily courteous or outgoing either.
Setting - REALLY LOUD. I went during lunch and the noise inside was almost unbearable. I couldn't even talk across the table. I think it is made worse by the design of the place(flat walls, tiled floors, hard ceiling).
Crowd - A lot of stroller moms mixing with some local people who work in the area.
