Sleep problems, it turns out, can have a myriad of causes, so doctors that have a single specialty might tend to block out alternative explanations. Dr. Baten has enough experience not to do that, plus a multi-disciplinary team at the Sleep Center. He's good with kids, too!

An individual whom is alive to this day, was struck in the temple, along with other injuries, survived massive head trauma (TBI). Said person was injured in 1990. Had Xrays taken and consultation with dr baten. This doctor, upon reviewing the scanned immages relating to the patient, said he saw no indication of trauma (even with his glasses); he chuckled sitting with his legs dangling off a table, swinging them as he explained to the patient (who could barely see, was struck blind due to head injury), "YOU SEE, THERE IS NOTHING TO SHOW YOU HAVE AN INJURY, IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD!!!!", as he chuckled some more. He took the gossip of another doctor, who took the word of a supervisor, who told the other doctor, the patient was "making the whole thing up!", merely as a ploy to sue the supervisor and the company, and the supervisor he worked for. They were all in it together. Not one "doctor" suggested more tests to verify or validate the patient's injuries. The patient was not sent for a hearing test, vision testing, nor was this patient referred to the Brain Injury Association of New Mexico. So you see if you feel that you need to see a real doctor, go to a real doctor, not this person who puts on like he actually knows what he is doing. Check out statements from other patients, ask personnel at the hospital. Do not waste your time nor your money on this so called doctor. It is a miracle that this patient survived to tell what happened. Everyone thought that this individual would meet death. Twenty years later - said individual has written a book documenting the agony and difficulty in trying to survive without the help of any doctors.
