Summerwood Apartments

Let me start by saying I’m a professional principal engineer at one of the tech giants in the bay area. If you see my post on several website, I’m not being a troll, just warning people about this place…..

It’s a good place for some amenities, has central AC and such. But TERRIBLE staff, and I cannot overemphasize the word terrible enough. They will smile to your face and seem like the nicest people till you sign the contact. After that pray that you don’t interact with them. They’re rude with residents, especially non-white people. I heard them making fun of resident and talking to some of them like they are idiots or they don’t understand English, etc. My English is very good so I didn’t face much of that. They lie. They overcharge people at move out. They forge documents. And they don’t care if you leave tomorrow because another person will be tricked in the next day. So let me tell some of the issues that happened to my and my friends that lived in other apartments……

Security is a joke at this so-called gated community. Walk to the gate near building 12 and you’ll find that it’s never locked. My bike was stolen before even though it was locked in my patio. My friends 5 bikes were stolen from his car’s rack. And many break-ins reported by my neighbors.

They increase the rent as much as 12% and in some cases offer only a month-to-month option where the one bedroom price jumps from $1700 to $3950.

Finally, why I moved out, they agreed with me on the new rent in the office and then called me to say “if we didn’t give it to you in writing it didn’t happen.” So I moved out just because I couldn’t take it anymore with these dishonest liars. Signed the termination notice and paid almost 3 weeks rent for the days I didn’t live in there to comply with the 30-day notice law. But to make this worse, they forged the termination notice. Modified over my signature adding $1700 of what they called insufficient notice fee. My lawyer said it’s totally bogus. And I had to suffer with them about this.

Anyway like I said, if you think you’re never goanna interact with the staff and don’t mind an average of 12% increase every year go for it.
