Park Avenue Child Care-Sanford

My daughters have been attending this center since my oldest was 13 weeks old, she is now 8. Over the years i have seen several things that have made me appreciate this company. the infant room teacher who was there when my 8 year old started is still there and does a wonderful job. the school aged teacher as well as the vpk teacher is still the same. the directors are wonderful and professional. If i were to have another baby he/she would attend this lovely facility i would not trust anyone else with my children.

My children have been attending this school for several years. The Director Ms. Kelly and assistant Director have been nothing but nice and professional. I now have a infant in the baby room. The staff shows her nothing but love and affection. We are always greeted warmly by the staff. Great preschool!

My children attended this daycare and now no longer do. My 4 yr old son complained of the teachers hitting him and my 1 yr old when i confronted the director and assistant director about the situation they assured me everything was fine so i just let it go since neither one of them had marks or showed concern for going and all the staff had the same story... Fast forward to this week july 13,2016 my 4yr old tells me his director by name grabbed him in his neck forcing him to sit in the time out chair... my 4 yr old is autistic and has agressive autism at that... He showed me his neck and he has scratch marks and bruising on his neck we have called dcf and opened an investigation on the daycare. The next day i went to collect my childrens belonging and the director was so unprofessional slamming her books around yelling in front of all of these children about getting my childrens belongs together.... Take warning when considering this daycare.

Is saddens me to know that day care like this exist. The personnel is horrible and the owners excused is that he is a retired police officer and they run his business. Just horrible to know so many corners are cut in the caring of a child. If you go early in the morning the place smells like mold. They mention they remodeled and that it was the old carpet smell but personally I couldn’t leave my kids there after getting sick the first week. Don’t be fool with all the deodorizer and check them out right when they open. Is not worth it!

I had 2 daughters that were enrolled in the Sanford Center. I spoke to a co-worker that said that it was the worst daycare that she had ever dealt with. She warned me that they like to argue with the parents and that they were very ghetto. I didnt put much stock into what she said so I decided to give it a try. WHAT A BIG MISTAKE!!!! We only made it through a week!! On day one I encountered a issue with the staff getting upset about me bringing breakfast for my daughters. The next day they had a issue with the supplies I brought. The final straw was today when I called to check in on my daughter who wasnt feeling well. I spoke to the director and asked her to see if she was ok, all the while watching the video feed that the center has installed for the parents to watch their kids. As I watched my daughter sleeping the director walked around my daughter, never touching her and then had the nerve to get back on the phone and say she was ok. This upset me to the point that I had to take a early lunch to go and make sure that she was ok. When I walked in the director immediatly got upset about me showing up. She told me that I didnt need to come and check on my daughter. I didnt even acknowledge her comment and I went over to my daughter I felt her head and noticed that she was bright red and drenched with sweat. I asked for a thermometer and took her temperature, the reading was 101.8! The director began arguing with me about showing up, never accepting responsiility for not checking my daughter who had a high fever. It got to the point that the director told me to "get my s*** and take those kids out of this center". She was doing this not only in front of my kids, but in front of all the kids in the center. She then called the owner who would only say that "there are two sides to any story". Then he wanted to question me about why I showed up at the daycare. When I tried to explain what was going on the director told me to leave and took the phone. I asked for the owners number she refused to give it to me and told me to find it (which I did). The conversation with the owner got nowhere and the owner said that if I wasnt happy then go report them and move on. End the end they told me and my wife that our kids are no longer welcomed to the school. Who conducts business like this? Keep in mind this was during my lunch, so I had to miss the rest of the day to find a new daycare.



I hope that anyone who is looking for a daycare reads this message an does a little more research. Never let the price fool you, because you will get what you pay for! I am not a vengerfull person, but I dont want anyone out there to go through with what I had had to go through today. Its just not worth it!
