        I opened my family law office over 30 years ago, specializing in adoption, divorce, custody and support. Over the years, my divorce practice has shifted from litigation to mediation and collaborative law. I began to feel very strongly that litigation was the absolute worst way to dissolve a marriage, with its attendant long-range anger, resentment, and negative effects on children. Whether or not you have children, isn’t it better to fashion the best agreement you can between yourselves rather than turn decisions about your family over to a judge who does not know you or your family situation? I think the answer is always “yes” and my job is to help you achieve that agreement, either as your mediator or as your collaborative lawyer.
