Copy Central

We were visiting the San Rafael area and needed to print closing papers, have them notarized, and mail them off. I wanted to go somewhere local and not FedEx or UPS. I shop locally whenever possible so I called Copy Central.



The girl who answered the phone wasn't the politest person. Maybe it's because I expect politeness and professionalism. I guess I expect too much. I decided to call around somewhere to another few places. I like to vote with my money so I didn't want to go somewhere where they didn't want my business. However, there wasn't much time and Copy Central had the only notary that was close, so I reluctantly went.



When we got there, the young guy was personable enough. We got to make small talk and he was helpful. The other girl was not as curt in person as she was one the phone. BUT there was no notary. He was out all day in meetings. That's my fault for not asking if there was going to be a notary there CURRENTLY when I told her I was going to be there in 10 minutes. So I had to come back the next day.



This morning, I walk in and see Brad; he's the owner/manager/notary person. Everything was going well at first. I had about 100 pages to sign and I had to get about a dozen signatures notarized. We were the only people in Copy Central for the majority of the time. One lady walked in and sent a fax (I excused myself and stayed out of her way) and another lady, who was a former employee, was doing something at one of the computers.



I say this so y'all know that we were NOT monopolizing this man's time and preventing him from dealing with other customers.



About halfway through all the notarizing, I realized that I had to print something else off so he could have two forms of ID for me. I apologized for not having everything and he said under his breath "Oh, Jesus". Again, I apologized for not being prepared. I quickly went to the computer and he muttered under his breath, "Someone's not a Boy Scout".



He muttered a lot and he didn't think I heard him. Clearly he needs to keep his thoughts to himself. Someone might not bite her tongue like I did.



All in all, the black and white copies are .07 for 8.5x11 and he can scan pictures and email them to you. He has great copy machines that are pretty efficient and he has a couple of computers you can use at seemingly no charge, as long as you can put up with his insults.
