This drycleaner is quite poor.
First, I swear that I've gotten clothes back from them that haven't even been cleaned!
Second, they charge a lot of extra money for women's button-down shirts (4x what they charge men) because they claim they need to hand press them, since the don't fit on the usual press. Fine, whatever, that's pretty typical for drycleaners - they really stick it to women. But the thing is, they are clearly NOT hand-pressing the shirts. Given the HUGE number of broken buttons on my shirts, it was clear they were forced them onto the regular press when they didn't fit, destroyed the buttons, and then tried to charge me full price.
And no, they did not offer to replace the buttons they mauled.
When I asked them about it, they said yeah they weren't hand pressing my shirts but they were going to continue to charge me as if they were because that's the price if you're a women. The owner seriously did not even understand my point or why I was complaining. He seemed to have no comprehension as to why I was upset, which is that he charged me for hand pressing but didn't do it. Whatever, I'll take my business elsewhere.
I recommend Dry Clean City in Belmon, on Ralston, as an alternative. They still charge women 4x prices, but at least they actually handpress the shrits and have never broken a single button on my shirts.
One final word about Hill's Cleaners. If you still insist on trying this place out, make sure you use the coupons that are in nearly every Value-Pak coupon mailing (sent to most residents every 3 months or so).
