This business is phenomenal! They consistently surpass my expectations. I think that's because they staff an experienced shoe repairman and a vivacious seamstress who also designs clothes. Additionally, they This synergism is probably the basis of their magic. That's not to mention their great customer service, which comes as a result of their near 57-year tenure. This place does quality work for a reasonable price. Having read the other reviews of this site - all of which seem to be written by disgruntled people who have zero-to-little concept of how small businesses work - I felt morally obligated to write an honest review FOR THE LITTLE GUY...

I have been a customer at the Cobbler for more than 12 years. I have taken everything from my bridal Vera Wang shoes for dyeing to my Tahari suits for cleaning and alterations. I am always welcomed by inviting smiles and great customer service. Two weeks ago I was in a jam and needed to have a few pairs of slacks altered for a last minute business trip. I showed up right before they closed. Rather than asking me to come back in a few days for pick-up, they stayed an extra hour and got the job done. You don't see that too much these days. They did a great job on my pants and have earned my repeat business. I give these guys a big thumbs up.

This place is not very responsive to the needs of their customers, tend to lose things and do mistakes and not take responsibility for their actions. The customer service is pretty poor all around. You can definitely find a higher quality cleaner elsewhere.

The guy who first helped me at the front desk didn't really seem like he knew what he was doing. They couldn't find my jeans when I came to pick them up, but I saw my old cut-off hems sitting on the front desk. The guy called me up later saying, ""I found the jeans in the back.""
When I picked them up something was not quite right. The thread sort of zig-zagged around the hem. I brought the jeans to a tailor and he spotted the bad hem job before I even said anything. He just chuckled. The jeans weren't even the same length all around the leg openings.
Cobbler also left my jeans longer than I had asked, so at least it's easy to fix this mess. I don't know about the quality of their other work, but don't get jeans hemmed there.
