I own and operate a general building firm. Before that, I was a business, law and finance journalist for close to 20 years. Two common denominators shared by the construction and news media industries: integrity and *DEADLINES*

If I ran my business like these people run theirs, I’d have no business at all. It took more than two months to get 99 percent of a relatively small order filled — all piecemeal and weeks behind schedule. Every date they promised to deliver…they failed to deliver. Logo colours were altered and embroidered without any consultation. Email correspondence was funneled into their SPAM filter and I was the one who had to show them how to change their settings. In the end, a small portion was forgotten, misplaced and still not complete two weeks after I was told to pick it up. I cut my ties at that.

This is, hands down, one of the most poorly operated and managed businesses I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter! Totally unprofessional and completely unorganized. In my line of work, the clients with the six-figure renovation are treated with the same level of respect and attention as those with the low four-figure project. We want our clients to share their experience with potential clients. It was made very clear that my business was neither appreciated nor valued. Now, I’m happy to tell anyone who inquires where we got our printing and embroidery done.

Contrary to their attitude, they’re not the only game in town. Don’t waste your time.
