Hungry to try another city's Thai, my friends and I set out for lunch. Walking into the restaurant, we immediately noticed the rather vast emptiness of the lobby. (Come to find out, 3:00 is after the lunch buffet, hence the lack of patrons.) The few people that were eating in the restaurant were Thai themselves, which (to me) indicated the authenticity of the establishment's cuisine. Our group was seated immediately.
We decided to order off the amply loaded regular menu, the entrees of which came family style. The food was delicious. The Crab Fried Noodles by far took the cake, with the Pad Thai in a close second. For dessert, the deep fried bananas with home made coconut ice cream were absolutely the best way to end the delicious meal.
Despite the fantastic food, we couldn't help but feel somewhat ignored by the single server on staff. I understand being allowed to enjoy one's food and a desire to not place any pressure on patrons to "sit-eat-pay-get out", and we had arrived after lunch, which is usally a period of time that the wait staff use to tidy up. Whenever the server was at our table, they were very courteous and catered to us; however, our late lunch ended up being an early dinner, as we did not get out of the restauraunt until nearly 5:00.
To sum up- excellent selection, delicious food, polite wait staff, interminable waiting.
I will be eating here again.
