this is probably one of the best pho places in california. yeah, the service is bad, but if you're used to viet places, then this is no exception. i've been going here for over a decade, i know viet food and i can say they make really good pho. if you're adventureous, try the bun bo hue and bun rieu. it's like eating home cooked viet food.
My Vietnamese friend took me there the first time and recommended me some choices. If you try #1->#20(?), those are regular pho with regular clear broth(lots MSG) which you can get pretty much anywhere. You have to try the one starting from #20(? on menu page 2), which has crab meat, tomato, different spice in it. Those are real GOOD! I prefer those much better than regular pho. I had those only once in college when a vietnamese girl cooked for her asian sorority, and I never tasted again. I am glad to find a restaurant which offer this type of ""pho"".\r
\r
also try the BBQ pork over rice.\r
\r
While the food was good, the service was HORRIBLE!!! They rush customers like ducks, bad attitude, clean up or mop the floor right next to you with dirty water. But again the food's good, so i kept going back.\r
\r
like my friend's saying, dirty food's good food. \r
Took more than 20 minutes to be seated. Took 10 more minutes for order to be taken. 20 more minutes of waiting for meal. Waitress was disrespectful, gave me and my family an attitude. Very unsatisfied at service, food wasn't anything special as well. There are tons more Pho restaurants and this is by far the worst.
This place gets packed at lunch time but they get you in and out FAST! By far the largest bowl of pho in the bay area that I've come across and it taste so MM MMM good! Try the regular beef pho, or the chicken pho, you'll be happy with both. Two other soups that I really recommend is the snail soup and the spicey beef soup. Get the large bowls if you dare, they're HUGE. YUM!
