I ordered 2 pairs of skates 9 days ago, they've collected my money but is telling me they don't have available stock. When asked for a date, was told they do not have the skates now and can't ship immediately. The only solution they had for me is to change my skates or refund me. And since I refuse to change my order or get a refund, I just have to wait. Their website lies, it states availability as usually ships in 24 hours but for international shipping, they will have to wait for manufacturer to send to them first before re-shipping out to international customers. But I've waited for 9 days and still no updates. Don't waste your time ordering from them.

I wish I had not ordered from this company and I would give them a 0 if I could. Their shipping times are misleading (aka wrong) on their site. Things do not ship out in the 'possible' time frame indicated. Also, when I called to check the status on my order, I was told it had shipped and so they could not change the shipping address on the package. This turned out to be a lie since I did not receive a shipping notice from UPS until a day later. This was time-sensitive, and I paid for expedited shipping, otherwise a day or two would not matter. When I called later to discuss this with customer service, their rep Connie was very unhelpful and said there was 'absolutely nothing' she could do. I know for a fact that they could try to re-route the package, but she didn't want to do this because it would cost them money. What a dissappointment. Obviously in life there are bigger problems, but to avoid annoyances and being lied to, do not order from this company!!!!

You are forewarned do not purchase anything from this company. They are absolutely horrid to deal with.
I purchased skates for my 6 year old on April 20, 2011. They came in broken. I called them immediately and and they asked if I could send them pictures because they are unsure how to handle the situation. It took many calls to finally reach someone and make sure they reviewed the my order and the problem. They said they had to contact the manufacturer. Many calls later they still were unsure how to handle it. They wanted to make sure the manufacturer was going to reimburse them before they would consider refunding the money to me. I let them know that I purchased the sakes from them, not the manufacturer and I shouldn't have to wait for the manufacturer's decision.
This went on for almost a month and about 25-30 phone calls (to them, none were ever made to me). I finally got my refund back minus the shipping. When I stated that I should not have to pay for shipping for a defective product, their answer was, 'we didn't know they were defective when we sent them to you'. I guess if you order from skatescom and they know the skates are defective they will refund your shipping costs.
again, DO NOT BUY FROM SKATES COM. You will be very unsatisfied!

STAY AWAY! Every negative thing other reviewers has said about skates dot com here and on ResellerRatings is true. In the span of four days I experienced a rude customer service rep (who didn't care enough to get my address correct but refused to confirm my address and payment info with me), a supervisor who didn't give a damn about my complaint, and the wrong skates delivered to me--plus the supervisor made it sound like he was doing me a FAVOR by not charging me to ship back the wrong product to him(!!??) This company is staffed by incompetents (at least up to the supervisory level) who have no concept of what customer service means. I called the folks at Connie's Skate Place. Not only did the owner answer the phone at 7:30PM his time, but his prices are better and he himself is a sweetheart. Going forward I will give Connie's Skate Place my money rather than skate dot com!

I needed a quick turnaround on odd sized skate at the last minute, and they ripped their warehouse apart to find it for me, and get it shipped to me in the 11th hour. That make me want to be a repeat customer.
When their was a product issue (missing insoles once the package arrived) their customer service in rectifying the issue was PHENOMENAL. That cemented that I would be repeat customer.
If I could give more stars for customer service, I would. Every company should be this helpful.

I needed a specific skate for my Daughter's competition and the staff
of Skates were extremely helpful and courteous! I had no idea what type of skate was best and Richard Humphreys was able to explain to me exactly what I needed. The shipping was also very prompt. Thanks again guys!

BUYER BEWARE! READ THE RETURN POLICY CLOSELY!
Timely shipping however poor customer service after the sale. Call the new sales line to get help. It is buried under the help link in the corner of the page.
If the skates don't fit, they will take them back. BUT...You WILL PAY shipping, you WILL PAY restocking and there on NO EXCHANGES. You will have to ORDER AGAIN, pay shipping if applicable, and wait an additional 3-4 weeks. If the size you need is not available, any discounts for shipping is not transferable to a different skate.
I ended up paying $35 to get NOTHING. BUYER BEWARE BUY LOCAL!!

Skates dot com is not a good place to buy.
They brag about being a client driven store, but the truth is that once you buy something through their web site, everything changes. They have the worst service I've ever seen.
When I asked for an exchange (the size was wrong and I didn't blame them for that, they just ignored me), they refuse to change for another pair of skates, besides they wanted me to pay for sending back the package to them (that by the way, they put the wrong adress from the begining and was lost for some time). They told me that all that they can do was a refund but I still have to pay for the delivery. (in not a very good manner).
The way they treat you is terrible, they don't have any idea how to deal with clients.
So, I definitely DON'T recomend you this store.
Avoid buying here unless you are willing to deal with bad manners.
