If you're searching for great, authentic korean food, definitely give Korea House a try. The meal I had here reminded me of the food I grew up with - and the atmosphere is cozy and down to earth, and although it is always busy, it is just quiet enough to enjoy a nice solid meal with good company.\r \r First, you start out with a large variety of little plates/appetizers, which are all fresh and healthy (mostly vegetables). You can't really go wrong with any of the entrees - we recently ordered the kalbi, which was cut a bit thicker than normal but had a very flavorful, hearty taste to it. The tofu hotpot (""soon toobu"") was the perfect complement to the kalbi, which was just spicy enough and plenty of seafood (unlike many other places).\r \r Overall, a meal here won't disappoint, whether you've had korean food all your life or it's your first time. The many locals and wide variety of customers (young couples, families, coworkers, etc.) that have discovered this restaurant is proof that this is truly a great place for everyone.

I've went to korea house recently and tried their bbq and some soups...I was a little disappointed to see the gas grill as wood or even charcoal makes the meat taste better. The soups were pretty good though and the atmosphere is nice. However if you want good korean bbq I recommend brothers restaurant on geary over this one...it's not as nice looking but the food is better and more authentic.

A friend and I ate here for the first time yesterday. Although the service was poor (we seated ourselves), the food was excellent! Along with our main dishes, we were brought nearly 15 different side dishes of Korean vegetables. There were even five different types of kimchi to try!

This is by far the best Korean restaurant in the city. I don't know what the last reviewer was smoking. The person should stop writing reviews and go take some English classes. I've had many a group dinners there and have never been disappointed. The meat is always fresh and they never skimp. The service is spectacular and the side dishes are mmm-mmm tasty! Let me also point out that aside from the yummy food, the place is clean and authentic. This place rocks.

As an LA-native, I was skeptical of how good any SF Korean restaurants would be compared to the ones in LA. I've tried a plethora of SF Korean restaurants, and was left extremely disappointed...fortunately, I found Korea House. Delicious food, relaxing atmosphere, and thoughtful service. Been recommending Korea House ever since. Simply put - Korea House is the best Korean restaurant in SF. Don't miss out on this SF treat.

I found this restaurant by this site. Then I decided to have my coworkers welcome party at this restaurant. We were 8 people, restaurant wasnt busy at that time but we had only one griller table. Fire wasnt strong enough either big enough, it took forever to cook. They use frozen meet, shrimps wasnt fresh at all. They gave Korean pancake on house. But it wasnt worse to give for free, taste too oily and stiff I felt sorry for all my coworkers. I disagree and Im mad that why this restaurant has the best point of Korean restaurant in this site!!

I come from Korea and look to find good Korean food in city limits (no car). I find at New Korea House, they act me like family! Side dishes there remind me of home, that is best compliment I can give! YUM YUM!

Having lived in Korea the past 7 years, nary a Korean restaurant recommended to me would deserve a writeup in citysearch. But NewKorea is pretty good. I've been here 8 times since moving (I've tried many in the bayarea including Koryo in Oakland, Brothers in SF, and Palace in San Jose...even SullungJungMoon on Balboa) and New Korea is the best overall. Forget the barbecue momentarily b/c the basics are important: the kimchi and acorn gelatin on scallion soy ""banchan"" are excellent. The stews are stocked and tasty. Try the HaejangGuk. If you're really into barbecue, deliberately smoky atmosphere at Brothers may give the impression that it's an authentic place, but in the end the taste is king. Don't get shrimp or chicken barbecue (ridiculous). Order the kalbi and be roasting garlic. The marinade rocks. The greens are always crisp for the wrapping. If you have room, get seafood pancakes.

As you walk into the warm and friendly atmosphere of New Korea House, all you smell is the succulent and delectable aroma of fresh meat and vegetables (kim chee) being prepared on the grill. The kalbi, bulgoki, and kimchee chigae is to die for. Those are my three favorite dishes. The panchan is always fresh and plentiful. The service is always courteous and expeditious. New Korea House is one of the best Korean restaurants in California.

Korea House is by far the best Korean food in the City. They give the most amount of appetizers and the main dishes are tasty. Unlike many of the other Korean restaurants in the city, this place has a great/clean atmosphere and the service is wonderful. I highly recommend this place if you want great tasting Korean food!

I came from Korea not to long ago, and have been searching all over the Bay Area for an authentic Korean Restaurant. I must say that New Korea House is by far the best, and reminds me of the good quality korean taste! Not to mention excellent service, and a great elegant ambiance.

This place has some of the best korean food in the city. They provide you with lots of korean appetizers (more than the other places I've been to) and the food is definately very good. Also, the aptmosphere is casual but very clean and well decorated. Service is good too and the service-people are very friendly

Korea House is by far the best Korean restaurant in the Bay Area. Friendly service, great barbeque, incredible soups and casserole dishes are all ingredients for an unsurpassable dining experience. Another great part is that the wait staff there is more attentive than that of any other korean restaurants in the city, and you walk away from a meal feeling satisfied and in love with Korean food, as they ""do it right"" at this wonderful establishment.
