Consistent with other vendors in the Ferry Building, Miette features beautiful products, made from the best ingredients, that are ridiculously overpriced. I frequently visit the cute display cases, and I have purchased several of their pretty desserts. The cakes are rich in taste and colors, and everything is cute and delicate - terrific for impressing guests, aunties, and birthday girls (things are very pink here). Three things that disappointed me about Miette: (1) Everything is pre-made Elsewhere, refrigerated, and shipped to Here (make sure you bring cakes to room temperature before serving) (2) While frosting and decorations are perfect, the actual cakes are unimaginative and standard (euphemism for ""not delicious"") (3) The staff comes off as pretentious and patronizing (example: One server distractedly refused to add a macroon to a customer's $35 credit card purchase because the credit card approval process was already underway. Worse still, the server was impatient about the customer's broken English - a visitor on vacation from Malaysia - and rudely insisted that the cookie was paid for in cash ). Conclusion: looks great, tastes ""eh""
