Good God this place is amazing, the hospitality is impressive and the service is fast. The authenticity of the food is unparalleled by any other restaurants.

The meals that we ordered the last time that we were here were amazing to say the least. The kitchen crew of this place deserves the recognition.

Go to spot, for casual business lunch

This is my go to spot when for an easy, delicious, and casual business lunch. It is not a stuffy or overpriced place, but more of a cool and relaxed spot. It is always packed for lunch, so make sure you have reservations for a large group. You must get their guacamole and chips to start - very tasty.

If you fancy tiny, overpriced drinks and anorexic portions, give em a whirl

I went here alone the other night and ordered two margaritas and the tamale entree. The margaritas were about the size of a dixie cup poured over ice and the tamales, while tasty, were two solitary blobs on a lonely plate. No chips, no salsa, just two measly tamales and a couple wimpy margaritas. Total cost (ding-ding-ding) $48 dollars (incl tip). I would have been better off tracking down one of those tamale vendors... view more

Great Food/Cool Locale

Had dinner at Mexico DF....very urban and cool atmosphere.....traditional with a twist, almost gourmet mexican food. You would find refried beans here. Terrific place for a group, a date, or eat at the bar alone. Highly recommended!! Enjoy!!

Now That's What I'm Talkin About!

First I went to Mexico DF for drinks after work. The $5 margaritas and mojitos are killer, and when happy hour ended I didn't mind paying full price one bit. I haven't had a margarita that good since The Red Cabbage in Puerto Vallarta. The guacamole is wonderful - I especially loved the mango guac. I could have eaten that all night. But I moved on to the Gorditas and the Duck Flautas which were divine. My drinking bu... view more

For Drinks Alone ....

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and cocktails at the new Mexico DF. \r \r Most of the food was authentic and enjoyable as well. One minor gripe: We ordered lots of the small plate selections and everything arrived at once! (We felt like pigs and dishes got cold before we could consume them.)\r \r Kudos to the interior designer here ... interesting colorful digital art and mix of modern color and rustic beams. \r \r Our... view more

Great all round experience

A friend of mine decided to do a web search for an upscale Mexican restaurant and came up with Mexico DF. Pleasant surprise and incredible treat. We arrived a bit early to a trendy bar filled with people beginning the long weekend w/laughter. As we approached two smiling hostesses, we were told by one of them that being early would mean that we would be charged extra and she was going to pocket it! So she was thankfu... view more

Upscale Mexican, Mexico City style

Finally, a restaurant with the ""cocina alta"" or upscale Mexican cuisine long missing in S.F. Very fresh and inventive crudos (ahi tuna with mango), pulled pork tacos anchored in ultra tasty housemade tortillas that would make any Mexican grandmother proud, and an amazing whole grilled fish with garlic and herbs that would make Patricia Quintana cry - honestly, the best fish dish in town.

Incredible Food

My friend brought me and another friend to this restaurant last night. The food is great, to say the least. We sampled about ten of their dishes paired with wine we brought and some wine that we bought from the restaurant. I highly recommend trying the salmon and the goat cheese cake, but all of the dishes were awesome. \r I also found the staff to be very attentive and knowledgable about pairing the wines with the d... view more
