Good place to find bargains

Costco is a good place to find bargains. Sometimes they have super cheap stuff. It's hit or miss since products are inconsistant. This one gets pretty crowded as it's the only Costco in SF. Food Court is pretty cheap.

The Costco Experience

I've been a Costco member since I was like 5 years old. This is the standard Costco, except smack dab in the middle of a somewhat major metropolis. Therefore, it gets CRAZY busy. More on that later. Highlights (really, of any Costco) - a good, affordable, photo processing center, optometry shop, and hot food counter (pizza, hot dogs etc). Be smart and pay for your hot food order at the regular cashier, then pick it up on your way out at a separate window, skipping the mile long lin...view moree. Things I love about Costco (purchasing) - seasonal fruit deals, the mailer coupon booklet, the whole roasted chicken for $5.99, cheap eggs, milk, bread (basics), large meat packages (buy a big piece and trim your own steaks!!!), good wine & cheese selection, great place to make a visit to when you are just moving into a new and empty apartment. The bad: Mile long lines on weekends and nights, things on sale sell out quickly, the people who think the sample tables are a free food buffet (same rude people leave their carts in the middle of the aisle while they eat their 30th piece of free whatever), Costco for putting these sample tables all over, instead of ONE spot in the damn store, and I think they stopped selling coke products. This may be resolved, it was some pricing fight with Coca-Cola. And on a side note, we get delivery from Costco every week at my office. When I shop at the store, I get great fruit deals that are FRESH! The stuff they deliver to our office looks like the throwaways, bruised, spotted bananas, rotten oranges, dying apples. Its horrible. I honestly think they take what wont sell in the store and send it to their business delivery customers. We complain all the time but it stays the same.view less

now I can buy my essentials without the priying eyes of all

What else is there to say about Costco that everyone else hasn't mentioned yet?\r
\r
Well, I buy all my underwear from them and recently, I discovered that their site has an even wider variety of medical supply goods too! Thank heavens, now I can buy my essentials without the priying eyes of all other members.

Cosctco competes with Sam's Club and Costco is far superior, hands down!

My large pantry at home really gets used because of the savings I get by buying in bulk. Or so I delude myself.\r
\r
No really, need some office supplies? They have it! Need gardening do-dads, check too! My favorite is the automotive section. I really can't have enough shammies or oil for my car.\r

Cancel membership, move on

There's is a lot of hype about this place, which is no better than a factory outlet with a membership fee. The employees are rude and think they are doing you a favor by answering a question. The management sets the example as their just as bad as employee's when it comes to customer service. Their products are basically low end brands from good names that apparently had no where else to dump their stock. Thier are no real savings when you consider per unit wieght instead of the whole...view more (groceries). Avoild the store brand (Kirkland) at all cost, its horrible. Expect long lines and angry people since most registers are closed. The most important thing to remember: is that even though you pay a membership fee and patron the store, there the ones doing you the favor.view less

Optometry Sales Dept is Well Kept Secret!

Nobody ever thinks about going to Costco for contacts lenses and eyeglasses - but I am glad I finally did.

The sales woman at the eyeglass counter in the SF store was very prompt and efficient, had a thorough knowledge of the lens products and provided a lot of disclosure about my order, including the warranty information.

My order was not only the lowest price I could find for the same product (Focus lenses) on and off the Web, it was filled very quickly and accurately. She

Plus, their designer frames are around $59-99 - I saw the same designer frames elsewhere for over $200. They have Armani, Jill Stuart, D&G, etc.
