Failed 1st day due to loss of memory from battery going dead, Smog Technician said to purchase a new battery, drive at least 50 miles to gain memory back and fill up at least 3/4 of a tank with gas and come back tomorrow for a FREE re test.. so gave up lunch today for a FREE re-test, then he tells me still not ready,. Must drive some more, then come back tomorrow, when i went to talk to the owner, he said what's the problem, this is a 1998, NOT a 2000 as the technician had entered into the system.. then I find out That the Technician at the Smog Shop Stole a " Brinks Pen" out of my truck, side pocket on driver's door.. When asked where he got it, he said his wife, that is was laying next to the telephone this morning... WRONG answer I said, That's where I work idiot, here's my business card !He had the nerve to give it to me to sign my paperwork today... That was NOT a good idea, Does he think I'm Stupid ??? ..... I'm Still calling the BBB on them !

I had to get my required CA Smog Test. If you are working in Kerney Mesa area and in a hurry, give them a buzz. The shop has is basically a mom/pop operation with one machine to run smog tests. The owners are foreign, but don't let you stop anyone from their American Dream!
Fast, friendly, honest and modest. If you call, mention if they will knock $10 off. They did for me and total costs were shy over $50 bucks (smog test + CA Certification).
Now I can head to the gents club and use the money I saved!

I have been using Convoy Smog for many years and with multiple cars, they always straightforward and welcoming, with QUICK service and truthful results. They always know what they are doing and give a thorough explanations and answer any questions regarding the DMV and registration. I recommend Convoy Smog to all my friends and family and they all give positive feedback as well.

My check engine light was on when I took my car to get smogged. It failed miserably, but of course they charged me full price. When I took my car to a Toyota dealer to find out what was wrong they told me that if a check engine light is on it almost always fails smog, and that any reputable company would have told me that rather than go ahead and do the test. Of course, Convoy Smog doesn't have the 'don't pay if you don't pass' clause - which I didn't notice - so I was out $45 (after coupon).
My Toyota dealer also told me that Convoy Smog should retest for free after I get my car fixed because they should never have tested it to begin with, but when I called them they refused. When I told them that Toyota said they should never have done the test because of my check engine light, the man on the phone (who CLAIMED to be the manager) told me I should have taken it in to get fixed before bringing it to them to get smogged because my check engine light was on. Hmmm...isn't that the same thing as saying he KNEW it wouldn't pass??!!
If I could give Convoy Smog NO STARS and still submit this review I would, but since that's not possible I am forced to leave one star.
