Love the Work Charco Has Done for Us!

We had a room addition put into our home in 2010 and were so pleased that we called them again this past year to remodel our kitchen. We chose them in the first place through a referral who had a complete home remodel. They're house was so beautiful and we were very impressed. After looking at their website and portfolio of work we gave them a call. We met with the owner, Chuck. He has a wealth of experience. He listened to our needs and made his own recommendations and we were able to come up with a great plan. Throughout the process Chuck was available to answer questions and address any questions that we had. Our superintendent Roger worked well with us also and took care of anything we requested. The subcontractors and workers were clean and respectful. And the final product is gorgeous! I have my dream kitchen and am enjoying cooking even more! If you are looking to do a remodel call and ask for the owner, Chuck. He loves his wrk and he will take care of you.

Overall
Complete disappointment

Use Charco only if you don't care what the final product will be. Some people don't like making decisions and if so, this is the company for you. If you are a masochist, this is the company for you.
However, if you care about your original design, getting respectful and expedient return calls, timely completion of the project, having a say in choice of colors and materials or having your opinion heard, then find a different company. Otherwise, your life will be a living hell. When you inevitably complain, the owner of Charco will tell you that your project is not sophisticated and therefore unimportant, or insinuate that you have an emotional problem and cannot handle stress. Our project was too large for Charco to handle and they could not manage the subcontractors that they hired to run roughshod through our home. The project either languished for an unbearably long time or the workers were crawling over each other. When disasters occurred, it was usually me who discovered them and then had to painfully argue with the foreman over getting them corrected. Charco's "This is good enough for you" attitude was frustrating. Things were mismeasured, omitted, installed wrong, ignored or slapped together like it was a cheap tract house project. They made no effort to recycle items and had no idea about green materials or design. It is laughable to see that they advertise their company as a green builder unless they mean the color of their clients' faces when they see the horrible final product.
They created such disharmony with our home, the final product is far from our wishes and we have such bad memories of the project that we will most likely sell the house when the economy recovers. How can we live in a place after it has been ruined with such bad vibes?
