I love this place! It's my favorite place to shop for ethnic foods as they cater to a neighborhood containing Middle Eastern, East Indian, Mexican, Central and South American residents. Need orange flower water? They have it. Need grape leaves? Tripe? Soyrizo? Candied fennel? Cumin in a 1# bag? Greek feta? Mexican cotija? Fresh and dried chilies of all kinds? They have it . Any exotic ingredient I have needed, they have had somewhere in the store. You may have to ask the manager, but they will find it for you. And for a fraction of what you would pay at Whole Foods or Bristol Farms.
Half the fun of going there is looking at all of the exotic, foreign products on the shelves. They have fresh, reasonably priced produce (ex. oranges 8# for $1 in season), a great meat counter, a bakery (i.e. Mexican bolillos and pan dulces), fresh Mexican cheeses, fresh tortillas all day every day, and a new deli. They also have fresh Arabic breads every day. Some of the packaged foods that you can buy in any ordinary grocery store are more expensive, but for the basics and the exotics, they can't be beat.
They are in the midst of a major remodel, so don't be deterred by the exterior. Staff is friendly and helpful.
