BEST Ob/Gyn I've ever had!!!

Anyone looking for an OUTSTANDING Ob/Gyn, Dr. Wittgrove is the one! She is personable, funny, and professional. She came highly recommended as a specialist who shares my moral and ethical principles. Originally being seen for anemia/fatigue, she wasted NO time in getting me tested the possible causes. We agreed on an endometrial ablation. The surgery was amazingly simple and I would encourage anyone with heavy bleeding to look into having it done! The labs returned, indicating my uterine lining had CANCER. She contacted a well respected oncologist who specializes in female related cancer and reviewed my test results with him.Dr. Wittgrove told me 'the news' with the sensitivity and caring of a good friend- her manner put me completely at ease. With me in her office, she phoned the Oncologist (cancer doctor) to set up my first appointment. With her involvement, the full hysterectomy to remove the cancer was scheduled immediately. I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Whittgrove's personal attention in getting me healthy and cancer -free!

you have got to be kidding me

I could not agree more with the other posts.... I was going through a very hard pregnancy which I ended up loosing the baby, and the last thing I needed was to deal with a staff that is complely rude. I too had a run in with Debra! She was so rude, I called in completly sobbing, she was cold and put me on hold for over 30 minutes. I was spotting and lost the baby that night. I told her on the phone that I needed to be seen that day, and she said the next available appointment was in two weeks from now, and thats all she could do. I called in several weeks later to speak with the doctor, Debra then, refused to allow me to speak with her. I seriously doubt she relayed any of my messages to her either. the most horrendous experience of my live, save yourself the grief, find another doctor. Your babies life may depend on it, mine did!

I strongly suggest that no one ever visit this office. The receptionist are extremely rude. They left me on hold for over 30 minutes. When the appointment was finally made, I sat in the office for 2 hours waiting to be seen, before I left without ever seeing the doctor. While I was waiting in the office I witnessed first hand one of the receptionists picking up the phone, telling the people on the phone to please hold, because there was another call ahead of them; there was no one else ahead of them. Then the two secretaries would talk about the patients in a very demeaning manner. I esecially remember them taling about a pregnant woman that was there to be seen, after she checked out and left, they were saying how she has herpies and would probably pass it on to her child, and they better clean the pen she used to sign her check out forms.

I'd rather go to Planned Parenthood

If you have not paid your deductible on your insurance, please don't show your insurance. Pay in cash.

In May 2009 I called various doctor's offices to get a quote on how much it would cost to get a yearly exam/pap smear. One of the calls I made was to Alvarado Women's Group, also know as Dr. Brown and Dr. Wittgrove's office. I told the receptionist that my insurance coverage wasn't the best, so give me a quote as if I had no insurance. She told me that if there were no extra tests ordered that it would be $150. to $200. Remember, that was considering if I had no insurance. I was pleased with that price and that is why I chose that office. It was a yearly exam/pap smear with no problems and no extra tests. When I received my bill I was astounded by the charges. The doctor's total in charges were $581.00! I was ordered to pay $265.70 I spoke with the billing manager of Dr. Brown's office. To paraphrase her, if I had paid in cash it would've been the original price quoted, but since I had insurance...then she spoke in jargon that only someone in billing or a lawyer could understand. The bottom line was there was no excuse.
