It worked for our kids In a contested custody divorce over our two daughters. I just wanted to be the father I was meant to be, I didn't have kids just to abandon them when there was a domestic crisis going on in their parents lives. Kids deserve to be loved and nurtured by both parents. Ms. Levy Penny interviewed us together, separate, with our kids individually, kids alone etc.and accepted any information submitted by either parent that thought was important to consider. That was 15 yrs ago. Our girls are happy, funny, well adjusted high performing scholarship awarded young adults now 18 and 22 yrs. Both are finishing respective schools with honors and furthering their education for graduate school and college. They had a normal childhood with both parents enjoying doing their part in separate homes shared with both children. I have to thank Angel Levy Penny for allowing this to happen with a fair/workable custody arrangement. I thought I was at a slight disadvantage being a man and not Canadian as my spouse & Angel were but it didn't matter. It helped that the mother and me stayed focused on what's best for our kids. God Bless.
While I won't give out my name due to confidentiality reasons, I will say that Joan Ahlgren has helped me to turn my life around. As a drug addict and alcoholic, Joan has coached and guided me through the darkest days of my life. Her compassion, advice, and wealth of knowledge as it pertains to substance abuse and addiction is clearly emulated in our sessions. She does not sugar-coat my problems, which other therapists I have gone to actually do, and provides me with deep, personal insight that helps me get through my tougher moments. She makes you feel like a person and a client, and not just another number. I recommend Joan to all of my friends and family who need life-coaching advice and will continue to go to her as I progress through this stage in my life. I always look forward to our sessions and I walk out feeling like a new person, ready to tackle my challenges. Thank you Joan for all that you have done and continue to do!
I am surprised at the review posted below saying that Matt does not care, I am one of the clients he saw a few times for a reduced fee because he knew I was experiencing a difficult time in between jobs with a newborn and wanted to help me. All of the other therapists I reached out to before him told me to go fly a kite so it's kind of odd that someone would expect a therapist to just work for free. Besides that, I just wanted to say Matt has helped me immensely in all areas of my life. Getting back to work, repairing my marriage and becoming a better mother to my daughter. For anyone going through overwhelming life changes Matt is great because he really helps you sort it all out, issue by issue without making you feel like your life is a total mess... So thankful for finding him!
