We have been fans of Ly's Garden for many years. From their stunning, delicate, three ingredient soup, their mouth- watering, steamed cat-fish, delicious salted shrimp, lemon grass beef and fillet of fish. their menu is large and modestly priced. It's a clean, casual place and the staff are friendly and helpful. I know this sounds like a paid advertisement but it's not. For a while we were lured away by nearer venues but although it's a long drive from Point Loma we make the trek frequently. We come back for the quality and the entirely reasonable prices. We are Chinese food aficionados having tried similar restaurants in other cities and even other countries and Ly's Garden stands out with the best in our culinary experience.
If you like great Chinese food the way old fashion way this is the place to go. The Peking Restaurant is family owned and operated for over 30 years. Every day of the week they have fabulous lunch specials that can't be beat. You have to go and see why they have been so successful all these years. For a special treat go during Chinese New Year which is during the month of February. It is a sell out every year. The Lucky Lion dancers come to perform inside the restaurant with their drum, gong and cymbals making a lot of noise to bring you good luck. All this at no extra cost. If you want to see the the celebration inside the restaurant, the best tip is to call on Feb. 1 and RSVP.
When I moved to Mira Mesa 10 years ago, I found China Chef II because they delivered. I was a home care giver and anytime I did not need to leave the house was good. This food is not only some of the best I ever had, the staff, along with exceptional customer service, prompt delivery and a has varied large selection of items that always tasted fresh and just made. I tend to stay with my old stand by favorites, but whenever I did stray and try something new, I have never been disappointed. I still miss Wo Chee Chongs in Chula Vista (spelling) but this restaurant is wonderful and deserves your attention.
