An Open Letter From a Customer: I am delighted to write this open letter to Dr. Trans Management and Customers following my positive experience with the Dr. Trans service management team and workshop at the Kearny Mesa Branch in San Diego, CA. My ordeal with my car transmission began a day prior to reaching Dr. Trans Kearny Mesa Branch. While looking for a repair shop I was referred to Dr. Trans Kearny Mesa Branch with the $100 discount coupon by Fire Stone Branch in downtown San Diego. Following my must attend conference in the morning; I used the streets of San Diego avoiding the freeways to arrive at Dr. Trans Kearny Mesa. The diagnosis of my car transmission (which is a Honda Passport year 97 with over 135000miles) revealed that it required a total rebuilding task to repair. The decision to invest on my old car or purchase a newer car out of my plan required a critical analysis. Dr. Trans manager, Chris Hochule, assisted me with all the negotiated service cost data and technical issues. In addition, his as his ... I took my car in to some other...

I took my car in to some other shop in PB, they hooked it up to the machine and said, yup, it's the transmission alright, and quoted me $4,000. Now I know that's too high, so I didn't trust them. I called around and got better quotes, but then called AAMCO on Morena. A guy named Dave answered and described to me the price range for a repair depending on what needed to be done and why, if needed at all. From what I know about transmissions, what he told me made sense and he sounded credible. The quote was also lower and he said he would beat any price in town. I dropped off my car about a month later when I had some cash to deal with it. And they remembered me from my phone call a month ago. So... Dave called me back after looking at my car and says that he's about 90% sure that the problem is not my transmission at all, but corroded battery terminals. Yeah. Battery terminals. So they order some new battery terminals and installed them and kept the car around long enough to drive it and make sure it ran fine, and put some new fluid in there, etc. Car runs perfectly. Long and short is, these guys were competent and honest. They could have easily done unnecessary repairs (whether due to incompetency or dishonesty) amounting to thousands of my dollars and I would not have been any the wiser. Instead, they quickly diagnosed the problem, did some routine maintenance that was needed, and charged me a grand total of $175. Dave was a super straight forward nice guy and saved me a ton of money and headache. I couldn't recommend this place any more. Many thanks to Dave and AAMCO on Morena if they read this.

This was a truly exceptional car buying experience. I came on the lot to pay cash for a used A4. However, Frank gave me all of the information I needed to make an informed decision on leasing an A3. He explained the advantages of doing so, and why it was in my interest. I hate to admit it, but he probably could have sold me a more expensive A4 because that is what I was looking for when I stepped on the lot. Frank was exceptionally knowledgable, friendly, and professional. He took the time to match me to a car that fit my lifestyle and needs, rather than trying to sell me the most expensive model he could. To my delight, Frank did not subject me to any high-pressure sales tactics. He is a consummate professional. It is also refreshing to do business with a company that realizes it is in their interest to cultivate long-term, positive relationships with their customers, and keep them coming back. The more I drive my A3, the more I enjoy it. It is the perfect car for my. I didn't know that when I stepped on the lot, but Frank made me realize that it was a perfect fit by giving me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I wish more businesses acted that way. I did my homework on Audi before coming to the dealership, so I know what a great company it is. I look forward to being an Audi San Diego customer for decades to come. Thank you!
