X-rays
Oral Cancer Screening
A full mouth set of x-rays will be taken at your first visit, unless there is a current full set available. A sterile oral cancer screening, periodontal charting, and an initial cleaning will also be performed at this time.

Dental Sealants
As a treatment, Dr. Guyot can use a dental sealant to fill in the pits and fissures. Studies show this greatly decreases the chance of getting tooth decay on the biting surface of the tooth.

Fillings
Composite as well as silver fillings can undergo wear and tear much quicker compared to a gold filling. Stability of a restoration is very important to the long-term health of the teeth. In his years of experience, Dr. Guyot has come across many cases where the patients are unhappy with their existing silver fillings because they can leak around the edges, causing darkness to show through the teeth. The tooth assumes a grayish appearance, and loses its aesthetic beauty.
Resin Composite
Dr Guyot uses a Waterlase laser system instead of a drill to remove enamel decay when indicated. When tooth decay is found early, a laser can be used to prepare the tooth with minimal damage. Usually no anesthetic is needed. A tooth colored composite resin is bonded into the cavity preparation after the decay is removed. This technique is wonderful at preserving your natural tooth structure. The esthetics are outstanding.

There are several advantages to using dental bridges. It remains fixed once it has been cemented, and does not have to be removed. A bridge takes about two to three weeks to make, where an implant may take several months. The best part is that the bridge can be very aesthetic because it will be made of porcelain, particularly for the anterior teeth.

Root Canal Treatment
A typical Root Canal Procedure at Dr. Guyot s office Root Canal is a common dental procedure that is required to be performed when the dental pulp is infected or damaged and unable to heal. In normal circumstances, this could happen due to a tooth infection reaching the dental pulp, or the tooth suffering from a severe trauma leading to pulp damage.

Periodontal Surgery
If early or moderate periodontal disease is diagnosed, Dr. Guyot will also suggest Deep cleanings and laser curettage to clean out the inflamed tissue and infection. Many times we will put Arestin, an antibiotic powder into the periodontal pocket. This antibiotic will stay there for two weeks to help the pocket heal itself. These therapies are usually recommended for pockets that are five or six millimeters in depth and show signs of disease and bleeding; this is known as ‘Phase One or non surgical Periodontal Therapy.’ After six weeks the treated areas are re-evaluated. If the areas are healthy the patient will be put on a periodontal maintenance program to keep the infection from returning. If the inflammation and infection has not been eliminated the patient may require periodontal surgery to treat the area. In such a situation, Dr. Guyot will refer the patient to a periodontist to perform the surgery.

Teeth Whitening
Dr. Guyot offers advanced teeth whitening services to his patients, using the chemical called Carbamide Peroxide which has been around for nearly two decades and is a proven tooth whitening material. There are several different ways in which the procedure is performed, depending on the patient’s needs. Dr. Guyot conducts this procedure in office using high concentrations of Carbamide Peroxide for effective results; this is known as in-office bleaching. However, to make this process fully effective, it must be followed with some home bleaching, as per the guidance of Dr. Guyot.
