I don't know who the other people R that wrote a review about this Restaurant. BUT they must NOT know what good Mexican Food is, or they must of ate somewhere else other than at the "Mitla Cafe" cuz I was born & raised a couple of miles from here & ever since I was a Little girl now 56yrs old me & my family have always eaten here & I can't remember the food being anything other than "THE BEST" whatever it may B it's always GOOD!! I do remember when I was Little I would C nothing but white PPL here all the time & they've always come back 4 more, I over heard a couple(white PPL) saying once I live pretty far from here. BUT it's ALL worth the miles we have 2 drive 2 get here I feel the same way I now live in Riverside & I also feel it's worth the drive. I can't say much about the waiting time 4 the check to come 2 the table. Cuz that does take some time, but over all it's ALL WORTH IT!!!! ONCE AGAIN if U know what GOOD MEX. FOOD TASTE LIKE!! Cuz only the ones that don't will write a bad review, & don't believe me go & TRY IT 4 YOURSELF! & it's ALL HANDMADE not frozen & heated up food! It's made fresh right from the kitchen 2 your table nice & HOT & READY 2 EAT!!! Hmmm GOOD!!
I got turned on to Mitla's over 20 years ago. It had to be my FAVORITE mexican Restaurant. I moved out of the area in '96 and lived in San Clemente. A couple of places out there came close, but they didn't have Cosido! I am in such a rut that's all I ever order. AND MItla had THE BEST corn tortillass, thick and fresh and just like my abuellita would have made. All their food is good. You can't go wrong ordering anything. I also lived out of state. In Minnesota and Maryland. I never had such lousy wanna be Mexican food in my life! Now I am back in the area again, and I can't wait for my Cosido! Now, Mitla isn't perfect. You will be greeted in a fairly friendly fashion, but don't count on good sevcise. Many was the time that I had to get my own refills, both coffee and water. But no one seemed to mind and if you can except that, then you'll be just fine. I haven't been there in quite a long time, but they did serve french fries with their breakfasts instead of papas. Id be much happier with papas.
My husband and I have lived in the San Bernardino Valley area for 50 years. We have had terrific Mexican food at dozens of restaurants in the area from Palm Springs to Los Angeles and Mi Cocina is our favorite. It is family owned and the food is prepared and served with a genuine concern for customer satisfaction. We have had them cater parties for us with the same delicious result even for large quantities. The shredded beef tacos, chile rellano burritos, homemade chips and salsa, and cheese enchiladas are all to die for!! We no longer live in California, but the first place we go whenever we are back in the state is Mi Cocina. Everything we have ever tried has been outstandingly delicious!!! Yes, it is just a small restaurant in a strip mall, but given the choice between a fancy atmosphere and truly good Mexican food, we have chosen the consistently delicious food that we are served at Mi Cocina.
