Arboretum Tree Services

Truly Exceptional

I was compelled to add my own review for Arboretum Tree Services since it was the feedback on this site that led me to contact and ultimately hire them for all of my tree maintenance needs. First and foremost let me say that Billy Jordan (the owner) is hands down the most...more professional businessman that I’ve dealt with in a really long, long time. Having recently moved into my first home I’ve spent ungodly amounts of money for things both planned and unplanned, and the one truth that I’ve come to realize is that the vast majority of so-called “professionals” out there will always over-promise, under-deliver and do whatever it takes to get the most amount money for the least amount of work and concern for the consumer. It never ceases to amaze me how so many companies these days put such a low premium on customer service. It’s such a simple concept that most people choose not to master. That’s where things begin with Billy Jordan and his company – Customer first! Like many of the other reviews have stated, I called up Billy with a few questions and he showed up to my property within a couple of hours. He spent quite a bit of time looking over the property, asking what my needs and expectations were and then explained what he could do for me. He answered every single question I had and never tried to rush me through the process. One thing I noticed right from the start is that Billy is very concerned with the aesthetics as it relates to your trees and property. He spent as much time evaluating how things would look as he did assessing the crucial needs for each tree on my lot. After doing a thorough walkthrough he presented me with an estimate on the spot. As for the cost, his price was very fair and I can assure you that Arboretum Tree Services provided me the most bang for the buck with respect to my bid. Billy and his crew were prompt and on time the morning that he promised to be there. They worked non-stop almost from the moment they arrived until the time they left. What’s more impressive to me is that Billy stayed on site and supervised every aspect of his crew’s work to ensure that it met both of our expectations. I can’t stress enough just how important that is in the grand scheme of things. This company’s accountability and quality control is off the charts! I had to leave before the job was complete, but upon my return Billy came back to my home and personally walked me through the entire property and explained every aspect of what his crew had done. The work was remarkable and more than what I had expected. My yard was impeccable and dare I say even cleaner than before Billy’s crew arrived. If you didn’t see the property before, you’d never know that several trees had been worked on all day. As he walked us through, my wife and I could see the true pride in both workmanship and ownership that Billy brought to the table. The man really loves what he does. If you’re reading this then you are probably as thorough and skeptical as I am. In the past year I’ve come to realize a very simple and common truth as a homeowner and general consumer - no one will care about you or your situation as much as you do. That’s been my experience in recent times and it always stings when you write that check and feel you’ve compromised even just a little part of what you expected. If you’ve ever been there and are now shopping for a tree service, then please look no further. I’ve already referred Arboretum Tree Services to a couple of friends and will continue to endorse them to anyone who ever has the need for their expertise. Billy Jordan is the only professional I’ve dealt with in the past few years who’s cared as much about my concerns as I did, if not more. This is a truly exceptional company that delivers on every level. view less

Mini Texans Christian Learning Center

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the quality care that my children have experienced from Mini Texans Christian Learning Center. We have three children who attend Mini Texans – a four year old in Pre-K, a 2-year old in a toddler class, and a 3-month old in the infan...moret room. I feel 100% certain that all three are given all of the caring and attention they need, as well as the resources to help them grow and learn. Mini Texans’ owners, Jonathan and Marcy Boynton, have created a wonderful environment where our kids LOVE to go each day. The teachers and staff are caring, attentive people and the environment is immaculately clean and filled with age-appropriate toys and learning tools. The staff know each of my children by name and also take the time to know their personalities and talk to my husband and I about them – often laughing with us about a funny moment they had or sharing something the children learned that day. They have always supported us in any efforts we are making at home – whether it be the schedule we are working on with our infant or potty-training our two-year old – they always keep in very close communication and work with us on the things that we want for our children. My oldest child is in the Mini Texans Pre-K class and I am so happy with the curriculum they are using and the learning going on in his room. I have spent the last decade working in the education industry so I used my resources and did my research when I learned about the curriculum they had selected for the Pre-K and everything they are using with my child is of the highest-quality and geared toward preparing him for the work he will do in Kindergarten. Additionally, beyond the curriculum, they have found an impressive balance between teaching the curriculum the children will need and providing them a nurturing environment to develop the life skills they are still learning (i.e. manners, etiquette, respect, etc.). In addition to the classroom opportunities, I have been awed by the number of enrichment activities available to our children on-site at Mini-Texans. My children have taken advantage of opportunities to learn basketball, soccer, dance, swimming, and even a class focused on computers and early technology skills. I have found that these “extras” are the things that many children in a typical daycare setting do not get to participate in because they are typically at a time when the parents’ schedules do not allow it. To have them available to our children within the day has been an incredible gift. We have been coming to Mini-Texans for over two years now and I have been blessed to meet many of the moms and dads whose children attend the school. In all honesty, I can say that I have never had anyone tell me that they weren’t completely happy with the decision that they made to send their children to MiniTexans. We believe that it takes a village to raise our children and we feel so incredibly blessed to have this school as a part of our village. Thank you MiniTexans! view less

Tree Musketeers LLC

I met with owner Josef in April of 2013 for a tree trimming (including saplings) estimate. This was a medium-large residential job if judged by the number of limbs to be removed. During the estimate Josef pointed out that the ball moss does not originate from the tree and d...moreoesn't damage the tree at all. He ended up giving me a lower price to get my business and so I agreed to the job. On the day of the job, Josef brought 3 workers with him and a flat bed trailer that already had some tree branches on it. He walked the property with me, going over what we had agreed on. They began cutting the large limbs on the side and back of the house. The first thing I noticed was that they were dropping the large cut limb pieces, from up in the trees, directly to the ground. This was leaving craters in the grass covered ground, up to 3.5 inches deep. They didn't ask me where the sprinkler heads were located, but luckily didn't hit any. I definitely wasn't happy with this gouging of my diligently maintained lawn. Second, I noticed that the sapling clean-up was not completely flush to the limbs. Little pieces were still sticking up out of the limbs. The backyard worker left 3 stubby branches in place, by the neighbor's fence, which was very close to where he was cutting anyway. I later pointed it out to Josef and he said that they could take care of it next time. Josef knocked on the door twice and showed me the work that was done. On the side tree, I pointed out ball moss that had been left in the tree, although high up. He reiterated that ball moss would not hurt the tree and did not offer to take care of it. The trees to the left of the house, although removed of the large limbs as discussed, were still thick in foliage in many spots. They did trim a little further at my request, however I thought we had agreed on more thinning. Overall, Josef and his team did a very good job of getting rid of many of the large limbs over my roof. The ground clean up did not end up at least as clean as they found it. While they did rake, they left short sticks all over the place and blew leaves from my front mulch beds, all over the front yard and entryway. They attempted to clean it up at the end, by raking real quickly with a small rake, but I was still left with an extra hour of clean up because of this. They left some trash--empty plastic bottles and cigarette butts. In the backyard, I had to pick my set of wind chimes, up out of a pile of leaves. Ultimately, I liked getting the major work done and the crew was nice. It was hard for them to leave the property clean and neat as they were in a hurry to complete the job in one day. And even though ball moss may not hurt the tree, I still don't want ball moss left in my trees! P.S. I spent 2 hrs. a week later, trimming dead wood, saplings and ball moss out of my front tree. I also spent over 2 hours, two weeks later, on the back trees, cutting off the now grown-out saplings and cutting the stubby branches that the worker left.view less
